By far the best pitcher on the team. Will give up some hits and walk a few batters from time to time but he has a knack for getting double plays and making pitches when he needs to.
Will not blow you away as he tops around 90 but he hits the corners well with his sinker to induce a lot of ground balls.
This is obviously a tough start tonight though. Lannan has struggled against great offenses like Philly's so it will be interesting to see how he does tonight.
Nats may win tonight but I'd have a tough time backing them simply because the offense is so cold. They aren't hitting anybody. The starting pitching for the Nats has been solid in the last 4 games on the road against TB and NYY yet the Nats have lost every game due to spotty relief pitching and non-existent offense.
average velocity with above average movement...if he can hit his spots the 2nd and 3rd time through the lineup vs the yankees it could be a close one tonight.
