I'm glad you responded, almost was going to PM you about that, Jake.

I fear the same fate will soon befall the one in my area "Hartford", Hartford is probably comparable to Boise in size, maybe even bigger ? ( I'm not looking it up).

Problem is Hartford Funnybone is at a mall 20 miles away in a suburb called "Manchester", not exactly the big stage... but I've seen some cool shows there.

If you have a Funnybone near you, watch for:

Juston Mckinney

one of the best comics I've ever seen !

very inexpensive, at FB, as well ( Like $20).

How long did they operate in Boise ,Jake ?

Only been in "Hartford", like a year. They comp tickets like crazy, in a 300 seat room at a strip mall ( Buckland Hills mall, Manchester,Ct)

Not sure but I believe they've been here since I got to Boise 5-6 years ago. This one in town comped tickets as well. They gave out so many free ones to some of the companies I worked at... luckily most of the people that accepted the free ones spent a ton on booze so it wasn't a loss for the club. This location here in town but about 10 feet from the entrance of the place that hosts nearly every concert in Boise (as well as downtown in the "bar area") so it wasn't where it was located that caused ours to go out of business.

I 've always wondered how FB makes it in "Hartford", almost everybody gets in free, beers are like $4... the math doesn't work for me. They should be located right in downtown Hartford, not at some fucking suburban mall 15 miles away, even though it's a great hood.

They will fold for sure, but I enjoy the club while it is here. I know many of the employees by name... from bouncers to waitresses to the "chef" (Buddy).

I'll be sad when they leave. They draw the early acts mainly from Boston and NYC, with Hartford being halfway between the two real cities.

Jake: I've never set foot in Idaho..... but I envision Boise is comparable to Hartford... a rather insignificant city of a few hundred thousand people ?, eh ? not quite LA ,SF,or NYC ? Sorta big enough to have an airport for jets, that kinda place,eh ?

No pissing match:

Hartford > Boise, I doubt it !

I'd probably prefer to say Boise> Hartford

Nothing great about Hartford, except the airport ( which is nearly in Massachusetts). %^_

I'd take my own "private Idaho" over Ct, but I hate where I live.

Boise is growing quite a bit but is probably like Hartford. We have our own airport and a mall and stuff like that. Definitely nothing like New York City though.
