I think the Sun's were on the decline LAST year too, but this year only figures to be more like the Mavs last year...a total disappointment. We'll see if they can turn it on near the end. Might be some value fading these guys early.

Mavs, Suns, Spurs will all be bottom playoff teams if they even make it.

With their new defensive plan, they may even be a good pick for unders, although we'll see how much the public bites on that.

They have lost 1 game. I would be willing to wager that the mavs suns and spurs will not all be bottom seeds

I don't see how they're going to be a disappointment. Who's really expecting much out of them??

The Spurs will be in the playoffs, anyone who thinks they're on the bottom and out just doesn't know.

It's probably going to be Lakers 1, Hornets 2, Rockets 3, Jazz 4, Spurs 5, 6 Blazers, then 7-8 will be between Suns-Mavs-Warriors, and my suprise team, the T'Wolves.

Obviously very little study has been done by you. Spurs got older and responded by resigning Finley. Dallas got a good coach but kept intact a collection of headcase players that seem incapable of playing defense. Suns picked up Tucker, Lopez and Barnes. They grew younger. They became much better offensively and much better in rebounding. What needs to be done is Barbossa needs to be released and Nash with so many weapons needs to take a deep breath, relax, and take fewer shots but more 3's while cutting back on those turnovers. Key will be minutes for Lopez. Last night he only played 1.35 minutes. Thats a little crazy. Kid should never get less than 10-15 minutes. Wins will be no problem for this team. They need to get the young players comfortable if they want a long playoff run. So we just have to watch. Are they bright enough to lose Barbossa? Not sure. Will Nash focus on passing more? Not sure but think so. If they do things right how good will they be? if the Lakers continue playing good defense no one can beat them. Do not see the Suns catching Houston if they stay healthy. Think they might end a little worse than the Hornets but very close and see some edge on the rest of the West.

San Antonio still has the best backcourt in the league with a staple down low. You could easily lump the blazers in with the suns and mavs as well IMO

The reason why Lopez didn't play much is because when he was in he got 3 quick fouls. In a tight game like that, the Suns couldn't afford to give FTs away to a very good FT shooting team.

I agree, and which is why I put them 5th. Putting them 5th is no slap, the WEST is tough, and the difference between 5th and 1st will probably be around 5-6 games, not much. The Spurs are injured right now, and once they get at full strength, we'll see the same Spurs we're used to. People just need to relax after just 2 games.

I agree, as much as I personally dislike the spurs they are a sound team..WHEN HEALTHY!!!! Parker will eventually get banged up with his style of play (see Wade, Dwayne) and Duncan is getting up there in age...the X factor is Ginobli, as I am interested to see when/how his body responds when he comes back in I believe early December (anyone got clarification on that???) If the Spurs jump out of the gate slow like they have been known to do, in the ultra-competitive West they may not be able to make up enough ground to get a top 4 spot...I see them slipping to 5-7, and if healthy, causing some major drama in the first round:drink:
