I've walked out of casinos before with some of the small tokens....

I guess I'm like most everybody else here.....when I go to a casino I try to collect a mass amount of chips, then cash them in for a mass amount of money.....

I know several people that are big into this.
As for me I have a small collection of mostly $1 chips from various places, many of them obsolete.
I have been interested in getting rid of them for a while, but don't want to go through all of the hassle of eBay.
If anyone on here is interested I would be happy to share the information with them.

The collection of Mr. Fishhead is very impressive indeed. Many of his gambling collectibles are unique and certainly tell in small part the tale of his life.

My first trip to Vegas I decided to to collect a green (25) and red (5) chip from every casino I went into. Unfotunatly I ran low on funds and had to complete my collection on later trips. I do now have a pretty nice collection and have thought of getting it framed. The problem is the collection will never be "complete" because of all the new casinos that keep popping up.

I was always curious why making counterfit chips is not more popular. Seems like a easy thing to do if you are smart about it and did not get greedy.

It lists for $10-14 in the price guide.

You would probably get $8-13 on ebay.

My pleasure Max.

FYI and everyone else's, the CHIP RACK is considered the Bible of NEVADA casino chip price guides and comes with my highest recommendation.

Funny you brought this subject up, over the past couple of years I've had the habit of collecting black $100 chips (like the look of them) from various casinos, I had to stop and think, what am I doing collecting all these different chips from different casinos. I originally did this not intending to become a hobby but it has become one.

Yes!!! I collect casino chips, just the one dollar ones. I use to collect matchbooks. It's fun to look back at all the places you have been.

The great thing about casino chips is they will hardly EVER lose their face value.

If you turn them back into the casino, you get the face value.

If they are discontinued, wonderful, you have an obsolete chip that is to be treasured or sold for what almost is always a higher than face value price.

Kiss1- In case you didnt realize it, worked at the Castaways Sportsbook up till their closing of the doors of the casino in 1987.

Most of the small quanity of the $1,000 chips were allowed to be taken by the 8-9 sportsbook employees on the night of the closing.

Have 6-7 like the one pictured above.
