Man this footage of wrestling from the days of Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior Bret Hart, etc takes me back. I can't stand WWE anymore and never watch it but I find myself tuning into this show all the time.

Maple Leaf Gardens.

Sunday night.

The Sheik. Haystack Calhoun.

$4.50-first row ringside. I recall how precious those seats were. Those were the days...

Yeah, those were the days alright. I can't believe how crazy I used to get as a kid when the Ultimate Warrior(my fav wrestler, sad I know) came on the tv screen.

I go back further (to the days of Bruno and Backlund) ~ sometimes when things "get bigger" they aren't as good anymore. The stuff today has no "mystique" for me whatsoever. The wrestlers are all from the same cookie-cutter wrestling school, no mystery (who is showing up this week? who is that under the mask?) every month is a pay-per-view treadmill with the hype for the next one happening before vthe ramifications of the last one setting in, etc
