Curious if any of you buy/sell on Ebay at all. Something that just baffles me about most members there..........

You may recall the poster 'HamNEggs'?

He use to claim he sold used sweaty T-Shirts and Socks too , I guess 'perveted gay men' on EBay....LOL, he told me I should look into but I never did...He said the return on investment was insane...

I have heard this sortive practice is not that unusual, believe it or not.

I just think that most members at Ebay must be ignorant. Main reason I think this is because lets say someone puts an item up for auction for 7 days for example. Why in the freakin world do they bid so EARLY and OFTEN. Dont they all realize that they are all driving up the price for everyone? If everyone would wait until the last day or hours and then go about a bidding war, everyone could buy things much cheaper. Of course this isn't a good thing if you are a seller, but for buyers, it would benefit big~time.......

HACHE- There are tons and tons of GHOST bidders.

Friends of the sellers bidding.

When I sell stuff on ebay, I have about 6-7 ghosts that i can rely on to bid on my items.

This accomplishes many things which include lower insertion fees, more action on your item so it draws attention of other bidders as being a popular item, and most importantly drives the price up to where you want it as a seller.

It is best to have multiple ghost bidders as to stay under the ebay rader.

I understand that Fish, but there are many that still do what I'm talking about. Also, I even emailed Ebay a while back and inquired about this because there were some items I bid on and the same member kept bidding higher and higher like 7 or 8 times in a row on an item EVEN THOUGH nobody had outbid him. Looked awful suspicious, so I asked Ebay about how they go about catching false bidders or multiple account bidders, and they came up with some lame excuse. In all reality you can do just what you are doing and I dont think they even make much of an effort to catch people. But, as I said, there are many members that will bid EARLY and OFTEN also that are just trying to win the item, and it just frustrates the heck out of me to see these idiots do this when they can all just wait until the last minute and get the product much cheaper.......

Did anyone buy EBAY when it started trading on stock market at $5, Has split many times trading at around $90 now.

10,000 investment in this company IPO would of made you millions today.

HACHE: I know that EBay has an option for bidders to use called "PROXY BIDDING" where as the bidder will set his max bid and then if he is out bid at his current bid the system automaticaly makes a bid in particular increments untill he would either have the winning bid or been out bid due to the proxy being over bid. It is an auotmated function and do not need to be at your computer.
