Start out with 5 guys. Say $20 to join. You are committed until the end of the World Series. Each guy gets (6) teams, one from each league division by random draw. If any of the following happen during the season, each man is responsible for adding to the pot. If you do not add or drop out the your teams will be auctioned off and your money is not refunded

Grand Slam $5
No Hitter $15
Triple Play $15
Hit for the Cycle $20
3 HR Game $25
Perfect Game $40

Also, each member will have to pony up the following at the all star break:

If your team is in what place of the division:

1st place - $15
2nd place - 10
3rd place - 8
4th place - 3
5th place - 1

Will pony up at the All Star Break and at end of regular season.

Each team getting to playoffs, final 4, and champ will get $$

Any interest??

I am interested but need more clarification on the details.

If my team hits a grand slam I owe $5 extra? or does everyone else owe $5 extra?

and the $15 1st place is locked or does that go up with the prize pool (wouldn't it be better as a %? i.e. since all teams taken, we know how many places will be paid, divisional winners, champions, etc.)

If anyone hits a grand slam, then each member owes $5

lets say your teams are:

Yankees
Indians
angels
mets
reds
padres

at the all star break your team in the standings:

yankees - 3rd place
indians - 2nd place
angels - 1st place
mets - 4th place
reds - 5th place
padres - 5th place

you would add $38 to the pot

We would only do this once at the break

and let's say there were (5) grand slams, (1) no hitter, and (1) 3 hr game during the 1st half of the season

you would add $60 to the pot

this would be done at the all star break, then reset, and done again at the end of reg. season

still a little confused...tell me if i'm right here

so we dont give a shit who hits a grand slam or pitches a no hitter...these are just pot builders and we ALL have to add regardless of our team or not.

the places at the halfway and end of season are just additional pot builders...(so if our teams aren't' in contention, we want to be last)

payouts are only for playoff teams, League champs, WS champs.

So nobody posts up? If your teams are all in last you pay the least and if you teams are doing well you pay more? And we have no clue what the payouts are going to be or how much we are going to owe? People who drop out are going to have teams auctioned and money (that they haven't paid) not refunded?

personally I think you have to have a post up contest. Especially online with a bunch of strangers. Take a look at the post up contests we gave and how many people disappear, never put plays in and simply abandon ship with money already paid up front.

in addition there's a cap on this..you can only have x amount of players based upon x amount of teams. Something like team of the week you could have 100 people without disrupting anything.

we can tweak the payout system..

my guess the most each would post up would be $150

think it would keep everybody entertained for the season

we could have a snake draft for teams instead of random draw

open for any changes

rooftop, i'm okay with the contest, but why don't we make it 2 or 3 teams each therefore opening the contest up to 15 or 10 entrants.

this way we could lower the amount of pot builders and still get a decent pot.

I figured everyone would get one team from each division. Therefor, hope everyone would have at least a decent chance to make the playoffs. Would suck to not have a team and still have to pony up at the end of the season. That's why I think a snake draft would be a good idea.

i'm in for something but this seems a little confusing and I rather do a big buy in and have a bigger pot, kind of like the survivor football league we did.
