Really liking the under 11. Why is this number so high with Lilly and Young on the mound? Is the wind just howling out? Let me know if you have any opinions because I'm really thinking about making this a large play.

wind is blowing OUT to center @ about 20 mph.... so the ball will carry much farther tonight.... that is why..

Thanks, will lay off. 20 MPH??? Wow, might see some fireworks.

ya... its suppose to be really windy.... maybe someone on these boards who live near chicago can confirm... but i read 16pmh out to center on one site, and 20-25mph on another site... so i would say 20mph is a safe number unless these sites are off.... chicago people where you at??? Is this accurate?

Cubs-Padres game still on

By Paul Sullivan
Tonight's Cubs game against San Diego is still on, despite dire forecasts.
WGN weatherman Tom Skilling called for scattered thundershowers across the area.
"The Cubs will continue to monitor the weather forecast," spokesman Peter Chase said.
There is no rain at Wrigley Field right now, but the tarp is on the field covered with rain water. A strong wind is blowing out to left field, making it a risky day for fly ball pitchers.
Still no word on the Milton Bradley verdict.

Out to left means the wind is conducive to right handed hitters to pull the ball to left.

Lilly has 31/78 gb/fb outs YTD

Young 42/80

Lilly is a southpaw but handles righty's good as seen above but still with the wind blowing out to left should be advantageous to right handed hitters to just lift it up into the jet stream.

First 5 over, that way if it's shortened we still cash.

Looks like it's blowing pretty well straight out from home. A satellite shot of the field with wind direction/velocity overlay is updated each hour:

I've got the Under on this one already, but not feeling great about it. Luckily the San Diego offense is so punchless right now that the Padre pitchers could give up 10 runs and that Under might still be a winner.

Heavy rain forecast, but game a go

By Chris Jenkins May 13, 2009, 1:52 p.m.
Skies over Wrigley Field are gray, but not raining, as the grounds crew removes the tarp for battng and infield practice. According to weather forecasters, the area is about to be hit with a major storm arriving right around first pitch and lasting at least a couple hours.
Ominous as that sounds, Wrigley veterans seem assured that the Padres and Cubs will somehow get tonight's game in the books, even though tomorrow's series finale is a day game and a doubleheader could be facilitated.
Still awaiting the lineup card from Cubs skipper Lou Piniella, but the Padres have released theirs. Most notably, Brian Giles has been moved down to seventh in the order.
WEDNESDAY'S LINEUP
San Diego Padres
1. Scott Hairston, CF
2. David Eckstein, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Chase Headley, LF
5. Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B
6. Nick Hundley, C
7. Brian Giles, RF
8. Luis Rodriguez, SS
9. Chris Young, RHP

Now that is insight - nice thought process here BadCo. I like it.

The rain to the west looks pretty spotty. I will play some over 11.
