After last night, there should not be. Oregon destroyed the #7 team in the nation, Arizona, last night. The fact that Oregon scored 51 points in the game is not suprising. The fact that they only gave up 13 points (6 of those in garbage time) is suprising. Oregon's forgotten defense has now given up an average of 17 ppg in their last 5 games. Another huge advantage is that Oregon will definately play their semi-final game in the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is a Pac 12 conference stadium. Oregon defeated UCLA there earlier this season. You can bet that the Rose Bowl groundskeepers will do everything they can to guarantee a nice fast track for the Ducks.

I just do not see another team that comes close offensively to what Oregon can do. Now that their defense is beginning to play rather well, there simply is no stopping this team.

It's funny how quickly people forget the past (See Auburn 2010, LSU 2011). Oregon does this every year in the PAC 12, luckily for them Stanford wasn't any good this year. When they meet a big physical defensive line their offense sputters. Last night was a complete mismatch talent-wise. If they play BAMA they will lose.

This has happened so many times i cant believe people would even talk like this. Whenever a team like this faces a team like bama or another defensive team, they get smacked. Anyone can score a shit load of points on a Rich Rod defense.I mean how many times has Oregon been here in the last 10 years? How many titles? So anyway, believe me I wish they would win because it would be an amazing game. but I'll believe it when I see it

well....Oregon did lose to this same team.

and Arizona totally mailed in that game for the good of the conference. seemed painfully obvious to me but i was happy as i had an organ bet

no doubt Oregon deserves a shot at the NC and likely the #1 seed. they've had a great season and seem to be the most complete team and a coach that doesnt play fraidy cat

Stanford was #1 Defense in the country when they played this year, Oregon beat two teams who ended the year in the top 10 defensively.

Stanford is way down this year

How about the opening game vs Boise when Blount punched the guy after the game? To me, that game shows what Oregon does when its all on the line

The SEC homers in here are totally lost. They refuse to believe that if Alabama loses today, NO SEC team will make the playoffs. If Alabama wins, and I fully expect them to, then they can go up against an offense that is much better than the Aujburn offense, which put up 44 against the Tide last week. The SEC is not nearly as good as people think. They should have realized that after last week's debacle against the ACC.

Stanford:
2010 - 12-1
2011 - 11-2
2012 - 12-2
2013 - 11-3
2014 - 7-5

You don't call that a down year compared to the last 5 years?

The SEC East is terrible this year. The SEC West is as deep as it's ever been, but Alabama is nowhere near as good as they have been.

Let's look at last week though:
Georgia - no excuses, they blew it and lost to a team they should've beaten
South Carolina - SUCKS, and lost on the road to the #18 team
Kentucky - ABSOLUTELY BLOWS, and barely lost on the road to the #21 team
Florida - SUCKS and fired their coach, and barely lost on the road to #3 Fla. St.

What do these teams have in common? They're in the SEC East.

There isn't a deeper division than the SEC West. The 5th ranked SEC West team, LSU, beat Wisconsin. The 4th ranked SEC West team beat Kansas St. on the road.

Stanford was #1 Defense in the country when they played this year and finished the year #6, yes they struggled on offense but their defense isn't down at all.

Funny how people harp on Oregon losing to Stanford two years in a row but seem to skip over what Oregon did to Stanford when they had Luck, same teams but different styles of play.

I think all 7 of the SEC West teams would have gone undefeated in the PAC-12 this year.

Just because they were the statistical #1 defense at the time the played, doesn't make them the best defense...
