Thanks in advance,

I graduated Clemson in 1989. You have got to go to the Esso Club right down the street from the stadium. 2 hrs. before kickoff and the place is a zoo. Alot of sports talk going on and if you indulge in adult beverages, at the Esso Club, they are as about as cheap as you find these days. Brent Musburger ALWAYS goes to the Esso Club when he is town to get the skinny from the locals. Downtown Clemson offers a lot of good resturants and clubs as well. Mac' Drive In right outside of Clemson offers a chesseburger that would make Jimmy Buffett envious. Clemson is a scenic campus and just touring the grounds is a good way to spend time before kickoff also. The Alpha Gamma Rho house on Calhoun Street usually has something going on most homes games. You can stop by, introduce yourself and take part of some Southern Hospitality. The key to enjoying a great day in Clemson is remembering to treat others as you would like to be treated and you will have no problems. Traffic can be a headache sometimes, but the Highway Patrol does a very good job getting folks in and out around the stadium.

I go to Clemson now... there really isn't a whole lot to do in Clemson but venture downtown (basically one street)... The Esso Club and Tigertown Tavern are the best bars, IMO, in Clemson. The campus is one of the nicest in the country imo.. also agree that traffic is pretty hectic... there is basically 2 roads that lead into downtown Clemson.. traffic is a nightmare.

Thanks for the info guys. What is the best area to tailgate? Going to check out Esso for sure as I am pretty sure I heard about this place before.

Anywhere around Littlejohn Coliseum is fine for tailgating. It is right up the street from the Esso Club, so you can't miss it. Alot of people tailgate in and around the downtown business's. It is a great atmosphere, but the only drawback is you have to walk farther to the game. Get in Clemson early the morning of the game and you can find prime spots in either Littlejohn or dowtown. When I was in college and poor (I am not in college anymore but still poor), I would tailgate hoop for free food and drinks. You can wear out your welcome though. You have to do it sparingly. Anyway, there is no finer tailgating in America than in Clemson on gameday. Enjoy.
