most people that say no have about as much info as this guy to back it up... you have a shot :toast:
I just don't understand anyone out there who is saying this game is going to be a blowout in either direction. These two teams play a near identical style of ball, and have near identical personnel uniquely tailored to that style of play. The stats are a near wash. The few places we differ we each have unique strengths to counter the other.
KenPom has this as a 83-82 win for UNC with only a 56% predicted win for the Tar Heels. That's about as close as they come from the number-crunchers.
I think this might come down as one of the premiere games of the tournament.
the more i think about it, this match-up reminds me of the 1998 nba finals. the bulls (unc) had jordan (lawson), pippen (ellington), rodman (d thompson) and kukoc (hansbrough). the jazz (gonzaga) had malone (daye) stockton (boudin) bryon russell (pargo) and hornacek (heytvelt). we all know what happened there. jordan pushed off and the bulls won by a nut hair. final score 87-86. will history repeat itself?????????? take the over.
