I just don't understand anyone out there who is saying this game is going to be a blowout in either direction. These two teams play a near identical style of ball, and have near identical personnel uniquely tailored to that style of play. The stats are a near wash. The few places we differ we each have unique strengths to counter the other.

KenPom has this as a 83-82 win for UNC with only a 56% predicted win for the Tar Heels. That's about as close as they come from the number-crunchers.

I think this might come down as one of the premiere games of the tournament.

8 points is a gift for a game that will come down to the final minutes.

most people that say no have about as much info as this guy to back it up... you have a shot :toast:

Dude, you don't need any fucking info. N-O is all you need to know. And after all, that's all he asked. He didn't ask for an explanation, HE ONLY ASKED THE QUESTION. So I answered.

Gonzaga is highly overrated though while we're at it. The guy above that said that Gonzaga has the same amount of talent as North Carolina is on Ecstacy right now. I want some of what he's droppin'. BOL to all of us anyhow.

ive said all year that gonzaga doesnt seem interested until the final 10 minutes. they need a full 40 minutes and maybe a couple of cheap lawson and hansbrough fouls in the first half to keep it close. they cant let unc get too far ahead of them early or they might be toast. that being said, if nothing changes, i'll be taking the 8 points

i love the zags, almost as much as i love UW, but they cant quite hang... I'm not huge on this match up at all... UNC has too much intensity for 40 minutes. Better coaching. Better shooting. They may be able to cover, if anything. Not seeing it straight up tho

the more i think about it, this match-up reminds me of the 1998 nba finals. the bulls (unc) had jordan (lawson), pippen (ellington), rodman (d thompson) and kukoc (hansbrough). the jazz (gonzaga) had malone (daye) stockton (boudin) bryon russell (pargo) and hornacek (heytvelt). we all know what happened there. jordan pushed off and the bulls won by a nut hair. final score 87-86. will history repeat itself?????????? take the over. :103631605

Same personnel lol. You can throw out Zags stats since they play in the wcc or whatever. This game is gonna be a blitzkrieg on Zaga. Daye is so soft its a joke. Heytvelt is good but he has to deal with T Hans DT and ED so edge goes to UNC there. Don't trust Bouldin in pressure situations. Lawson better than Pargo. I dont see any edge for Zaga.

Pargo Lawson UNC edge at every position
Bouldin D Green
Daye DT
Heytvelt T Hans
Daye/Downs Ellington

UNC has weak bench this year but doesn't matter.

Christ gonzaga gets to the sweet 16 and some are still crying over rated.. they took out a HOT team yesterday.. it's hard to guard a crazy mexican hittin 26 foot spinning 3's..

yes personnel is very comparable as far as the starting 5 goes.. is unc deeper? of course but that's not what i was talking about.. i think you're suffering of a case of thinking players are much more talented just because of the name on their jersey....

If this was the late great Zaga with Mustachio, then maybe. I do think UNC sucks, but I don't think zaga comes away with the W here.

Maybe a cover, but that's a different story, unless you have spreads in your brackets lol

you know if i could get 1 player 1 more year of eligibility for the zags.. and put him on the team this year... it would not have been mustachio.. it would have been J.P. Batista
