I want to buy a decent size (32") HD TV. Does anyone have any recommendations on what brand is best....or other specifications that I should be looking for?

I need to get this before the NFL season starts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

if u are not money tight i jus would make sure to get most contrast ratio that u can.

some tvs have 1500 but some can have 20000+ or near and it makes a tremendous difference in clarity and brightness/shine.

It depends on budget and what you're looking for. I got a 32" Vizio for $600 at Costco. It's only 720P instead of the full 1080 but I don't see a huge difference. For the money you can't go wrong. If your budget is higher they also have a 42" that comes in full 1080P. This is a brand that doesn't do a lot of advertising and keeps a low key. Because of this they are able to sell cheaper than many other name brands like Sony or Samsung. Read reviews, you'll see that people are happy with them. Keep in mind that these are LCD not plasma. I'm not familier with many plasmas. Good luck.

Vizio

One Word-----------VIZIO!

I Bought A 42" PLASMA From Wal-Mart Alittle Over A Month Ago For $747! I Mounted It In My Garage For FB Season. I Payed $200 Extra For The Mount, But It Was Well Worth It, As It Gives You The "Full Effect!" It Comes w/ A Stand, But The Mount "Makes" The TV! I'm Very Impressed w/ This TV....Much More Than The 53" Toshiba That's In My Living Room.

DO NOT PURCHASE A 32 INCH VIZIO, i had one for a little over a year[ factory warranty expired after 1 year] but was smart enough to purchase an extended warranty for 2 years & was able to recoup my purchase money due to the extended warranty, GOT BURN OUT ON ALMOST HALF OF THE PICTURE, i was told that a samsung 450, 32 inch lcd hd which has 10,000-1 contrast ratio was a very good buy, i am getting ready to make that purchase any day now, it runs around $675 or so , gl 2 u.

Smart and purchasing the extended warranty should never be in the same sentennce. Always -ev. If it weren't they wouldn't offer it, like taking insurance in blackjack, only for suckers who "think" they are playing it smart.

He was commenting on you buying the extended warranty, not your punctuation or grammar. Buying the extended warranty is not the smartest thing. Just another way to sucker you out of $200.

As for your "DO NOT BUY VIZIO" statement. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience but you are the exception, not the majority in this case. Review after review speaks volumes for this TV. Not to mention that I've had mine for a while with no problems. You could find people that bought brand new Cadillac's that the tranny blew the first week, doesn't mean that nobody should buy a Cadillac.

I was just going by the Best Buy extended warrenty when I said $200. I don't walk into Walmart so I don't know what they sell. I guess they do charge less. Giving slave wages and forcing companies to outsourse jobs does get the price low, doesn't it?

You did totally miss my point, because how was your comment about grammar having some fun? Did you just want an excuse to mention being 13 and providing for the family? Okay i will give you a pat on the back. Happy now sir?

Extended warranties are always a bad idea. I love how they now tell you "congratulations your purchase today has qualified for an extended warranty". Is that how they got you, they made you feel like you won something. :nohead:
