In the spirit of Wil's "sticky" on Anti-Semitism, I think it is time that the Irish stop being the brunt of this Forum.
From time to time, I've seen threads bashing the Irish. I don't necessarily understand all the nuance; missing a 3-pointer, going for a field goal when they were on the defense's 1-yard line, losing to BC in the Frozen Four. What is this cryptic talk against the Irish? We are a relatively good bunch (except for the Bob Davie years).
As for the people of Ireland and of Irish heritage, please understand that most of us have a false sense of confidence or stoicism, but we are an emotionally fragile group. So what if, in our self deprecating manner, we tolerate being depicted as miniature, elf-looking, orange haired, bearded, green suit wearing, angry men. Does that mean we don't have feelings? Don't you realize that some of us have brown hair? Or that some of us wear blue suits and only green ties? Or that some of us shave every day? I will give you that most of us do look angry (or at least until happy hour starts).
Given that St. Patrick's Day is soon approaching, I implore you to stop the Irish bashing and baiting, and understand the years of suffering that us dirty McLeprechaun's have endured.
