Devastating blow for the Red Storm that may end up costing Norm Roberts his career at St. John's. This is really too bad for a program that desperately needed a big season. Losing an all league caliber player will ultimately lead them to the basement.

Mason just stares at the ground and dribbles, poorly at that. He makes nobody better. The team was a nightmare anyway, so at least Roberts and Edmondson can get some minutes now to see what we have there.

HA HA! Anthony Mason Jr. Sucks... St. Johns will probably get better without his pathetic ball handling on the court, and for a 6-7 man in college, he can't rebound for dick.

really? I thought he was pretty good. I mean he isn't a team leader, but what be a good 3rd option on a good team

to say they will be better without Mason is ridiculous

To say he was single handily carrying St. John's is twice as ridiculous.

He's simply not an impact player.

No post moves
Takes twice as many shots than he deserves,
Doesn't rebound well (for his size),
Doesn't get to the foul line,
Doesn't handle the ball well.

Yea, they'll miss that stud.

Where did I say he was single handily carrying St. John's? I must have missed where I said that?

you must know a lot more than the coaches that vote him on the all-league team too. they proved last year that they played much better when they had him in the lineup, compared to when he wasn't.

Do you have the memory of a goldfish?

Devastating? Hardly.
Desperately needed a big season? You act as if they can't have a big season without him.

They will finish in the basement now without their all-league caliber player?

He's essentially a 3 point shooter, with some pull up mid range jumpers mixed in. Obviously they are not better without him, but they will probably be more fun to watch. They need Norm out of there ASAP or it will only get worse.

ya you must be pretty simple minded not to figure that out. When a team goes from having 3 solid scoring options to 2 it's going to hurt. Never said he was the only player on the team. and yes he is an all league caliber player. that's not my opinion, it's a fact. look it up

Mason wasn't a solid scoring option. He's a ball hogging chucker! When on the court last season he had 30% of his teams shots, yet only managed 14 points a game.

Dude, that's awful. The guy wasn't a scorer. He wasn't nothing. A 45-48% eFG% out a man that size is nothing but pathetic.

I'm actually looking forward to St. John's games over the next couple games.. I'm hoping there is a similar overreaction to this injury in the spreads, I will be jumping all over it and playing the Storm. :aktion033

Their going to miss him especially on offense. And usually anytime you lose a starter your bench play aslo weakens. It's always nice to have options on offense.
