Plenty!!! The Oregon football program has come a long way during the past several years and playing in Autzen isn't exactly a "stroll in the Park". Throw in travel logistics, which makes for a tough road trip (three time-zone changes) for schools like Ga, Fl, Tenn, and SC....I can see why these AD's might say, "thanks, but no-thanks"...........

Yeah, they're scared. Probably should just send back those 7 consecutive national titles....

If you play Oregon in Autzen you better bring your own conference officials. Oklahoma got raped prison style last time they visited there.

not sure what that has to do with those 2 schools....they haven't won anything...mix in a road trip out west at least every other decade

Personally I would rather see a neutral site game. With the playoff in its current format I think it discourages tough home and home games especially when you have a strong conference schedule.

Not sure about Georgia, but Sumlin with that horrid Defense is likely worried about job security. Life after Manziel does not look so good.

What west coast teams don't understand is that the SEC doesn't NEED them. But they NEED the SEC. What does an SEC team have to prove and/or gain by going out there? Imagine you play Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and LSU in consecutive weekends. Then throw in a non-Will Muschamp coach UF team, UGA, Texas A&M, and a Kentucky and then tell me why...again...does an SEC team want to go out west? What is there to gain again? I haven't heard that logic....

Exactly.

On a side note this Oregon game is just about unwatchable. I'm going to go to bed and chalk my Oregon bet up as "who gives a shit". No wonder nobody stays up to watch this crap.

A$M replaced Oregon with Clemson, so it's not like they are getting off easy. Probably a much better game geografically to play for recruiting purposes than the west coast.

I don't think West teams need the SEC either... But teams like Oregon don't mind testing outside of the conference a time zone or two away...Pac 12 is tough to get thru also..

doubt if you're speaking for everyone....Just because the fans out here aren't waving pom poms every other play along with the band playing that stupid jingle doesn't mean the football isn't entertaining and good..... And we don't have to listen to Lundquist yelling " oh my goodness " over and over.... good riddance....

So why does the SEC even need anybody else at all? Since they exist in a vacuum, break off and keep your football in the family. But for lawd-sake do it right boy, stop playing Samford in November. It gets a bit old, this "our shit don't stink" mentality. The play some pretty damn good football down there in the SEC, not doubt, but the most damn impressive thing is how they've discovered perpetual energy. Hell, just a few weeks ago, South Carolina was a power-broker. Then TAM become the flavor after beating them. With that maroon-koolaid watered down, we've got Ol Miss and State. Don't forget this all coincides with bellcows Florida, LSU and Bama (at least using it's own elite barometer) are somewhat down. Of course, LSU, which is a bad team today, until they beat the Rebels, will be the only 2 loss team in the top ten while a dozen 1 loss teams look up. Kentucky is good too, well because they beat that great South Carolina team, err I mean next week that 38 point loss to that top ten LSU team doesn't look so bad. Then Arkansas, which hasn't won a SEC game in years, got beat by flavor-water and can't kick a simple PAT. It's hands down the best racket I've seen in years.

outside of two special team fumbles on kick off returns by D Thomas in his first game the stats were pretty much even in a game that could be considered a home game for LSU
