WTF, the hyped outdoor game won't be shown in the US??? Yeah I am sure there are no hockey fans in the US that want to see the first outdoor professional game in like eight decades, nor would they want to see Gretzky, Messier, Kurri and Fuhr take on Guy Lafleur and some Candiens legends. Nice move NHL, ever since Bettman has taken over they never fail to prove how little they know about giving the fans what they want. I am sure most real fans of the game would love to have the chance to see this game, but if you don't live in Canada the NHL just screwed us.

WildBill, i agree it would be great for fans.... do you know whether it was an NHL decision or if no network was interested?

I believe it is a day issue. On certain days local networks are allowed to show games and on others they are not allowed. Having the game on Saturday night bows to the Canadian tradition, but Saturday night is one of those days ESPN/ABC isn't allowed to show games. You would think the NHL would do something to allow a change. Then again on Saturday night ESPN wouldn't want to give up a college football game.

No kidding. I was really up for checking it out, just out of curiosity-and no dice.

Just brutal. I wish I was back home so I could watch it. This game was the lead story on the ESPN website today? How are they not televising it?

That is just un-fvcking believable. Here in Canada the CBC is showing the old timers, then the regular Oilers-Habs followed by Leafs-Canucks. Now that's how a hockey Saturday should be!

Well even if it were televised, none would still be watching it on a Saturday afternoon

It is -6C with chance of flurries. Interesting game to handicap. People are saying the goalies are going to have a hard time of it, but if it is snowing that will have to slow the speed of the game down somewhat. I played as a goalie one time outside in a pickup game, God that was miserable. Every time I got hit by the puck my body just vibrated. One time I went down to cover up a puck and a guy just slightly ran into me with his knee into my shoulder and it was like I felt his knee hitting my whole body with a cold wall. Nasty stuff, I would suggest both teams play their backups just in case. Then again I am not Canadian and didn't grow up in a cold climate so maybe it was just me
