22% in 1960 and 30% 1968.

The Great Society hasn't been so great. Unfortunately, progressives love to have "conversations" about difficult issues but they won't touch this one. Their solution: throw more money at the problem...and if you don't, you are either a racist or Uncle Tom.

What is your solution?

I sure as hell wouldn't throw more money into a system that enslaves people into a life time of poverty where the probability of getting out is minuscule.

The Great Society like most progressive solutions was hatched in an ivory tower classroom by intellects who have no real work experience. It has been a monumental failure and it will only get worse unless the leaders in these communities realize that the real problem lies from within. Well intended but like most social programs there is rampant abuse and anyone outside with reasonable solutions is labeled as racist troublemakers.

You see Johnny Mac, even if I had a solution to the problem, it would never be accepted because the leadership in these communities count on the enslavement of their constituents to line their own pockets. It's either going to be solved from within or we are going to drift more towards civil war between the have and the have nots....especially when these benefits are cut or rationed. Maybe not in my life time but it will happen

Term limits would be a good start

He risked a lucrative athletic career? - sure man - he had no clue the outrage he was gonna cause - he had no clue he would be banned from football - and when he realized he caused a problem and there would be consequences he immediately said he would never sit or take a knee if any team would just give him a job - just keep telling it like it aint
truth
he had no clue...just wanted to wear his pig cop socks and get attention away from his horrible quarterbacking abilities. and when it caused an uproar he backtracked because he saw the checks were going to stop. now that he knows he won't be seeing the big NFL $$ again he can't wait to be wear a dress in Kenya or support the natives on Alcatraz because, well, that's all he's got left

Term limits are a good idea, but are worthless until you eliminate lobbyists.

And to eliminate lobbyists, you need to get the money out of the electoral system.

Criticizing the Great Society 50 years down the road is classic 20/20 hindsight.

Again, what is your solution?

Historical data is always a good start to solving a problem but back to your question.

Since many of the recipients don't want to continue down the path of no return, I would start by tying benefits to a work program, similar to what slick Willie did in the mid 90's but the problem is far more systemic than a simple work for benefits program. You start dicking around with people's benefits and you are asking for major problems.

Honestly, my solution is to live 30 minutes outside these areas, contribute to my local United Way and tend to my own business. I have enough problems without trying to solve situations that I didn't create.

The problem of Black men not being responsible for their sperm is the #1 problem in the black community. Many grew up without a father in their life
so to them it is normal to only have a mother and not a father. So when they impregnate a woman it's no big deal to them and don't feel any need to take care of the child. The woman who grew up without a father and saw their mom collect as much government help as they could, assume it's natural to collect all the benefits just like mom did.

#2 problem is the stigma of you are a sell out, uncle tom, or less black if you are or want to be educated. Talk about holding yourself and your race back.
It's totally acceptable to sell drugs, steal, rob, gang member, and kill each other.

Neither of these 2 issues ever get discussed by blacks, politicians, media, or any of their race baiting phony black leaders.

When and only when they fix these two issues will blacks not be incarcerated at such a high rate.
Not live in poverty. Actually have a chance to be educated and live a good life.

Does anyone disagree with this?
If so let's hear your rebuttal to these points.

Forgot to add that Ali was a great boxer, athlete, showman but a piece of sh-it as far as being a good person or human being.

Having Kap win this award is fitting. Kap is weak minded, uneducated and a pretty pathetic man. I say this because he has let a woman change who he is as a man, as a person, as a human being. That is a sign of a very mentally weak person.

Kap brought all this on to himself because he never worked on getting better as NFL QB. His skills are limited as far as being a good fit for most teams offenses, he can't read a defense, can't take a snap under center, and when he scrambles he is not looking to pass he just runs. Add in his ignorant b.s. and
racist Muslim girlfriend, what owner wants to bring this sub par QB and 3 ring circus to their team?

Has nothing to do with race as there are plenty of black QB's in the NFL, so that is not the issue.

Ali was the GOAT. Kaep wasn't even the best in his division or on his own team.

Think about that for a second.
