Not enough out of conference games that are meaningful. Washington had zero of these and made the playoffs and only Lane Kiffin's play calling kept the score from becoming embarrassing. Washington didn't score or even look like scoring in the last 52 minutes.
A lot of people watched and bet on the game regardless.
Penn State [winner or Big 10] or USC [destroyed WU and played Bama first up] would have been better than WU.

There have been some great bowl games this year and the New Years Day Bowls look like good matchups. The Bowl selection guys have done a pretty good job.

I agree with you as well "doctor"; The "freshman" in the Alabama QB was showing a little last night.....It would be fair to suggest that Hurt was hurting last night; It will be interesting to see if an increase in experience for him will occur from the Washington game. Good luck with your play(s)
I realize that the attention-span for college football players can often be minimal; They have a tendency to forget the recent past (one week) and lose sight of the main objective, to win a football the following week. On the other hand, Clemson looked awfully good in their win against the Huskies with Watson at the top of his game. I don't like the lame-duck status of Kiffin....he maybe focused but he has a lot of things on his mind......I suspect Saban will be all over him. What about the Kids ? If Alabama's freshman QB can parley his newly acquired play-off experience into next week's game, it could make the difference. It should be a helluva college football game.

The hell with that SDF, let's make it sixteen and get rid of the garbage bowls, put a little smack in declaring a true Champ. I've got five games today that mean nothing more than gambling opportunity, Period. I can honestly admit that I didn't know more than half the sponsors of the bowl games to date, and probably don't know two today. The Charlotte whatever declared the Belk Bowl brought in 16.2MM to the city coffers, I don't see it, ya had barely 40K folks in an 80K stadium. Most of the games I watched seemed to have 10% capacity filled, I can not for the life of me figure out how these games aren't a losing proposition.
