They got very Lucky Bell scored a TD, because if he hadn't this would have exploded. The SD Clock Operator and the Officials ran an extra 18 seconds off the clock when SD kicked to Pittsburgh and there was a touchback, when no time should have run off. They didn't notice this until way after the game. Total Incompetence.

Just heard the clock operator was born in Boston and said he was trying to make sure the Pats don't have to play Pittsburgh in the playoffs :ohno:

Total incompetence by Pittsburgh too --- why didn't their coaches + players notice?

Anyway --- with 2:30 (plus two timeouts), the impact of 18 seconds is slightly diminished. But yes, definitely a screw-up by NFL and clock guys.

I think massive is a huge overstatement. This is not a big deal at all. 2:56 or 2:26 left with two timeouts is essentially the same exact thing and doesn't give an advantage to either team. It's way more then enough time in todays NFL for anytime to go the length of the field for a touchdown without sweating the clock too much. It seems like the majority of the time the offensive team has to slow things down once they get in the redzone to prevent the other team from getting the ball with too muc time left.

The one big thing I noticed was the lady referee blew the whistle way too early when Bell had a run on the outside corner. He was being tackled by 2 people and started spinning away while still going forward. I was surprised there was a reaction by Bell after that. Just something I noticed.
