Watched it last night and it was very solid.

For those of you stuck in a cave, Angels and Demons is a movie based off the bestseller by author Dan Brown. The movie was directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor and newcomer Ayelet Zurer.

The movie was just over 2 hours but kept you on edge the entire movie and you don't need to be religious to understand what's going on throughout the movie. Langdon is the character from the Brown novel "The Da Vinci Code" but IMO this movie is much better than the code.

This is a definate buy movie for me and I'll be watching it again.

Despite his notorious relationship with the Church, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is once again called upon to decipher the clues to a catastrophic conspiracy.

The Pope has died, and before conclave can begin to determine his successor, the four preferitti (primary hopefuls for the papacy) are kidnapped. An ominous threat of their hourly demise, along with the complete annihilation of Vatican City, is issued as an elaborate revenge scheme for a persecuted group known as the Illuminati.

With their meager time limit steadily counting down, Langdon, accompanied by beautiful physicist Vittoria Vetra, must travel throughout Rome to unravel the carefully hidden signs that will lead them to a terrifying adversary, a harrowing discovery, and the shocking truth.

Tom Hanks running around and explaining stuff all the time. (his character is so boring) 37% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I watched about half of it and couldnt take it anymore.

Looks like the best 3 movies of the summer will be 'up' #1 'Star Trek' #2, and 'hangover' #3.

Listen to Rotten Tomatoes to give me movie reviews? No thanks. Star Trek over Angels and Demons? Well, ok....

I read the books and they started getting me back into reading years ago and I'd agree angels and demons is better but the ending was over the top. Like one of those unbelievable movies. It was something like the pope or langdon jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. Yeah, this guy was 1 in a million finding needles in the haystack but as a gambler he should know that he was due for a big blow up. Take your winnings, don't jump out of airplanes. WTF.

I guess I just have that feeling where I read the book, and too many uneducated dumbasses just go funnel into the movies now and get the same story. Now I'm the ass saying " you should have read the book"

but believe me. I saw about 20 minutues of the davinci code and the movie was horse shit. I don't know why anybody would see it. The book was 500X better.

The books were good but the plots are too intricate to ever make a good movie. Anyway Ron Howard is out of his league here trying to direct this stuff. Don't like anything he's ever directed.

Not even 'A Beautiful Mind' ?! I thought that was pretty well done.
