african scams

hate to admit this, but i've been victimized by "beautiful" african "women" asking for help in getting their visas and passports, so they could come over and move in with me. they have gorgeous photos of themselves and you keep saying "how could i be so lucky?" it turns out that "mary" is actually harry or larry!!

wish i could figure out a foolproof way to prove they really are who they are. had a recent experience with this "babe" from nigeria who had beautiful pictures of herself, flirted for a coupla weeks and then asked for help in getting her passport. i told "her" i worked for the FBI and said i needed to confirm her identity.

haven't heard from her since.

if it involved Nigeria or the IP maps to Nigeria, its almost ALWAYS a scam. most dating sites are just crawling with scammers, they also hit e-bay all the time (especially with check fraud). Virtually anyone asking for money for visas/lawyer fees/passports over the internet, its a scam. Especially if they write in all caps.

My brother was contacted by a scammer and was flirted into helping her ship some stuff into this country because she couldn't take it all on the plane. She wanted to use his address and he reluctantly agreed. About 2 weeks later Fed Ex shipped a palet of new laptops to his address. There were about 80 of them. They were all Gateways. Needless to say he got scared and called the FBI. They came and confiscated the laptops (a few were missing) and thanked him for reporting it. He gave them copies of all the email transcripts. After the Feds left with the laptops he never heard from them again. That was about 2 1/2 years ago.

Email him the lines and tell him that you need his best 5 bets of the week in college football. If all 5 hit, you'll send him the cash!

LOL

a man of the cloth looking to rinse stolen diamonds, smuggle them in violation of international law, and lying about the above in order to steal all my money. :103631605

here's what another scammer wrote me when I told him I needed the money I was going to send him to pay for my rent, my daughter's tuition, and medicine for my dying Mother:

"Anyway, I will advise you to forget about paying for a house for now, because as soon as the needed document is secured and immediate submission to the bank, the inheritance fund in question, that is the $18M will be in your account within the next 24 hours and I will suggest it is better you buy a house of your own than continue paying as rent in another person's house. Therefore, my advise to you is to suspend every other thing"

not quite sure why he choose a blue door as a backdrop. I don't I think I can verify his idenity unless he paints the Chief logo in orange on the blue door.....

the scam baiting site I belong to running a contest is running what we call The Lad Deck Project. Getting a full deck of cards where the pictures of the card's rank and suit are made by the lads themselves (the joker pics are sure to be WILD). We're hoping to have them done in time for christmas but I'll be sure to post any that deserve special attention.

Gonna work on getting some more trophy pics. how about, HOLD ON TO THAT BALL, ILLINI!

Bad Lad, scamming is for small boys! (a huge insult in Nigerian culture!)
