The fact is, the police had a search warrant against these
proclaimed anarchists - chances are whoever granted
the search warrant had a damn good reason for doing so.

CNN reporting that these scumbags weren't peaceful little
protesters. Looks like those arrests warrants were a smart move,
I applaud their arrests.

------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier in the day, a group of self-described anarchists threw park benches into streets and smashed windows, police said.
St. Paul police spokesman Thomas Walsh said Monday afternoon that some of those arrested are accused of property damage and conspiracy to riot.
The arrest of the "anarchists" came after almost 5,000 protesters marched peacefully outside the site of the convention. Walsh said they were part of a "splinter group" of the main body of protesters. He said he would not characterize their activity as a protest.

Conn. delegation attacked in St. Paul

The Connecticut Republican delegation was assaulted by protestors in St. Paul today, according to the state party.

Over 100 delegates and others from the state were walking up to the security perimeter when they came upon a "a human chain" of protestors meant to block the Republicans, wrote Heath Fahle, executive director of the Connecticut GOP, on the party's blog.

"Police officers in riot gear quickly converged on the protestors as the delegation attempted to walk through the blockade," Fahle wrote. "Delegates were shoved and spat upon by the protesters."

Former Rep. Rob Simmons and others from the delegation had a liquid substance thrown at him, according to Fahle.

Police ultimately took control of the situation, and the Connecticut Republicans managed to get into the convention.

The police in Mpls/St Paul have kicked in the doors at roughly 12 homes over the past few days, in at least two cases they refused to show a warrant (If they had one?) or explain the nature of their assault, then they handcuffed and held hundreds of innocent people for hours on end, ransacked their homes and found nothing. NOTHING!

In one seperate raid they did what they call 'preventative' arrests on 'Conspiracy to commit riot' (Whose Constitutionality will be challenged) charges against 5 of some 50+ people as well as confiscating some materials that appear to have been part of a plan to disrupt traffic.

The meager ends do not justify the frightening means.
