American Flags in my neighborhood

A number of my conservative neighbors have American flags up. Some people have the American flag up all the time, some people do for the 4<SUP>th</SUP> of July, Presidents day, Labor day, elections etc. Many of these neighbors are military, Secret Service, FBI etc. and they are all conservative. These people have served their country and believe and fought for freedom. Being American is supposed to be different than the rest of the world. I am proud that we are “different” from the regimes in Europe, Africa, South America and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1lace w:st="on">Asia</st1lace> and agree with the American ideals. I am proud to be an American, and we have a flag up in front of my house.

None of my liberal neighbors have ever put up flags. Their lack of flags isn’t an anti-Bush protest, they never had flags up when <st1:City w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Clinton</st1lace></st1:City> was in office. I am not accusing them of anything, but when all the conservatives have American flags up, and none of the liberals do....

Barrack Obama wouldn’t even wear an American flag pin on his suit jacket. Then I look at John Mccain has risked his life and served his country is unbelievable fashion. You might call his background “more of the same”, but his sacrifices are noteworthy. I don’t hold it against him that he is rich, or had a famous dad. When Mccain was being tortured in Prison camp during <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Vietnam</st1lace></st1:country-region>, he has an opportunity to leave, but he did the right thing by allowing another person who had been in prison longer to leave. Do you think Obama does the right thing? Hussein Obama had his Syrian felon friend hook him up with his Mcmansion. Of course he wants to bail out and make us all pay for people who lied on their mortgage docs, just look at how he obtained his own home! I am no John Mccain fan, but I don’t like him because of his POLICIES and VIEWS, but I can’t deny that he loves his country. I can’t say the same thing about Michelle LaVaughn and Barrack Hussein Obama.

I don't doubt that there are huge liberals that fly flags in front of their homes. I just noticed that in my hood, it is the FBI, Navy, Air Force, SS, and other military types with the flags. Not the Libs.

Why would I make something like that up? How would I even notice that, if there wasn't a gross disparity between Flag flyers and non Flag flyers.

I am not saying that all conservatives are proud of their country etc., and that liberals are evil euro trash, I am just saying in my particular neighborhood conservatives are much more likely to fly the American flag. It is a very small sample size in a 300 million person country, but I was offering my sample.

Well I grew up in the very Democratic New Jersey and most of our neighbors had up flags, as did we, on the above mentioned holidays. Being a first generation on one side of my family and a second generation on the other, we are proud to be Americans. My grandfather even became a US citizen as did my aunt.

As far as McCain he is just as bad as the rest of the politicians and with Obama having such a short history in national politics he has less of a bad record than McCain but I am sure he will catch up in the future.

I may be wrong but wasn't McCain the only Republican in The Keating 5 in the S&L crisis. The McCain picks Palin who was lobbying for the bridge to nowhere with a price tag of $300-400,000,000. McCain also broke his own campaign finance law as well as cheating on his previous wife. I know he is a war hero but since then his record has its problem. His problem is he is a politician that will do or say anything to become president even though he criticsized W for the same thing. At best he is a hypocrite.

Good luck to all my fellow Americans who still live in the states. I think we are all in a lose-lose situation.

I have never had a politcal yard sign or bumper sticker and neither have nearly all of my neighbors.

Must be a commie neighborhood - you won't see signs in socialist areas while you'll see a ton in working class neighborhoods.

As for bumper stickers, around here they're a government hack and teachers union thing. Working people don't like to mess up their cars with such crap.
