Yeah, hosting the Olympics in China was a real good idea.

It was one knife wielding maniac who committed suicide right after. I don't see how you can control that type of action.

It's your perogative to believe it's coincidence.

There are idiots and tragic events everywhere. Although I too question having the Olympics in China, I don't consider an isolated act by a suicidal man a knock against the country.

? Whats a coincidence? The guy jumped off a building right after his attack . Are you saying that once the Chinese learned it was an American he killed they ordered him to jump off a building to even things up?

Or you're saying they ordered him to kill an american and then take his life? Like a suicide attack?

Alrighty then.

My problem is China is a country of what? 1.3 or so billion people?
A country that has polar opposite point of views on just about everything occidental.
Had a feeling there was going to be an incident (s) like this.
I'm not conedeming an entire country, but, like I said, something like this was bound to happen.

And if they were hosted in America, I'd be willing to bet people would be killed too. American society is in no position to lecture anybody.

I think China spent like 50 billion over the past 7 years to prepare for the 2008 Olympics. They're looking to be a great host and I doubt they would want shit like this to happen.

American death toll @ 1. Haha, that's funny! Geez.

By the way, China has a relatively low crime rate. One of the few benefits of strict government.

It's too bad when a country is put on the world's stage for an Olympic year...bad things will happen...it all started at Munich....I could live with the protests, but not with the violence...

Didn't mean to be crude /w the thread's title btw - my bad.

It just feels like something bad is bound to happen, with all the threats that have been made.

It is true that there is very little violence in China, citizens can't own guns, and if one harms a foreigner the punishments are harsher than if you harmed a national.

I'd just like all the American folks to comeback intact.
