America is the only country to live in.America is ahead of times while the immigrant countries try to hold our jock strap and struggle to put a meal on the table. All this bullsh*t about anti-America has to stop beacause this country allows for OPPORTUNITY for anybody. It is unfortunate that OUR country lets a immigrant or a non-american to come to this country with nothing and become a super star in time either thru business or education.Education is the equalizer. But these other countries or more than half the world are so dead that most of the clowns that live in these immigrant countries are drinking toilet water 7 days aweek. But hey their government and people chose that.Ask the average AMERICAN if we care about what the backwards governmemnt and people do everyday. We would reply as LONG AS THEY KILL THEMSELVES we don't give a sh*t about you, your country, family, your little kid, mother, father boss,or anything.WE HAVE THE WORLD BY THE BALLS HERE AND THE IMMIGRANTS that still live in their shed JUST HAVE THE WORLD FOR ANOTHER DAY!, IF THAT!

The land of the free? Really?

Is that why we have the largest percentage of prisoners per capita in the world? Most of whom oare non-violent drug offenders.

LAnd of the free is nothing more than hyperbole. An ideal, that we have long since forgotten , other than to boast about.

Chonce - Obey the law and you don't have to worry about going to jail. If you don't like that go to another country that lets you smoke your joints.

I know I'm free!

We decent Americans can only hope that a comment like this couldn't be further from "average". It would be sad to think that "average" Americans are that lacking in a sense of right and wrong, on the other hand look how violent we are amongst ourselves.

"The land of the free? Really?

Very, very valid point!

"America has been blessed because of a remnant of biblle beliving

ROTFLMFAO. One of the most important principles that our nation was founded on was freedom from religious persecution. Franklin, one of our founding fathers in case you forgot, was an atheist.

"Chonce - Obey the law and you don't have to worry about going to jail. If you don't like that go to another country that lets you smoke your joints."

You seem to have forgotten that civil disobedience when the government is wrong is not only part of a healthy democracy but also a civic duty. I imagine you don't even know why marijuana is illegal do you? Are you even aware that it has absolutely nothing to do with it being bad for anybody? The government has allowed and profited through taxes, the selling of cigarettes for years and that with cigarettes being much more detrimental to your health. Big business lobbying in congress (Dow or Dupont, don't remember which) led to the illegalization of marijuana because they wanted to sell nylon rope and could not compete with the quality of hemp rope, which by the way was the only rope strong enough to hold the sails on Columbus's ships. In other words, in part we have the marijuana plant to thank for even getting to America.

"If you dont like it go to another country where you can skmoe joints"

Well first of all, you have no clue as to what substances I do or do not take.

Secondly, this "love it or leave it" notion is very un-american, in that it is on contrast of the very definition of a democracy. It is supposed ot be "love it or change it"...you know that whole sum of our parts thing, that we try to pretend we adhere to.

"Obey the law and your free" (paraprhase)

Translation: You are free unless the government says otherwise.

You my friend are un-American, not me. Your statements are taking a collective shit on our Constitution, forefathers and ideals.

Blind Patriotism frightens me. Take off the rose colored glasses.

Chonce - I'm sorry you have such a tough life. However, I am very happy with my life and the laws of the land. Sure there are some things I would change but you have to look at the consequences of those changes.

God Bless America!

Kaya man:

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with your overall opinion. However, I don't think Franklin was an atheist but rather a deist. Although it has been a while for me as far as school is concerned, but Mr. Franklin instituted the requirement for a daily prayer to open either the Supreme Court or Congress or both.

That might be a good exercise for some of the explorers on this forum.

Moneybags,

Thanks, just did a little reading and you are correct, deist. Honestly I appreciate it.

With all due respect, this I don't understand....

I thought faith was supposed to be a personal thing that fullfills the individual. How would imposing that on those not of faith or of other faiths be good for anybody?

Kaya man:

To clarify what I said earlier, I wasn't 100% sure about what I said and seeing that I was getting ready to go out of town for a power dinner, I was hoping someone who had the time to do some research could either confirm or negate that statement.

As far as those not of faith as you say, I consider anything you believe a form of faith. Whether you do or do not believe in God, you're believing something. Whatever floats your boat as long as you don't compromise my or my family's safety.

I had a neighbor once that found it prudent to sacrifice our beloved pet. Almost two weeks after the fact, I contracted a couple of thugs on parole to put that spineless bastard in the I.C.U.

kaya man, what are you talking about when you state "ROTFLMFAO. One of the most important principles that our nation was founded on was freedom from religious persecution. Franklin, one of our founding fathers in case you forgot, was an atheist."
Ben Franklin, whom I think you are talking about was not an atheist! Here is a quote from his own autobiography: "I never doubted, for instance, the existence of Diety, that he made the world and governed it by his providence, that the most acceptable service of God was doing good to man, that our souls are immortal, and that all crime will be punished and virtue rewarded either here or thereafter. These I esteemed the essentials of every religion"

I don't know whether you made it up, or if you got it from some revisionist history book, but it's wrong and therefore makes everything you've stated possibly incorrect - an errent or purposeful lie!

You should do your homework before you make sych outright statements!

Sound like anything happening in the US today?

I am not complaining about the quality of my life. I bet on football, was raised in a suburban home, with big yard, pool and access to my parents sports utility vehichles. In many ways I am lucky to have been born here. In some ways, I love America. If I didnt I wouldnt so much as waste 2 minutes typing what I think sucks about it.

It is a democracy! WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GET INVLOlVED AND PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS! Your cheerleader, sideline, blind patriotism is exactly why AMerica is a shell of its former self.
