Some NASCAR dude (Earnhardt?) swears on television AND HAS A RESULT CHANGED !! What a pathetic morass your country is in. All the ths BS about freedom ... talk to Howard Stern about freedom of speech.

Instead of blaming us losers (Americans) for "allowing" Jamal Lewis and others like him to serve their sentence during their off-time perhaps you should ask the DA on the case/s why he/she chose to do that. Maybe he/she were Ravens or Braves fans. You get worked up when we fight over things we can't control but if we sit idly by on issues like the incarceration of Jamal Lewis you get pissed off just the same. FWIW, these sweetheart deals aren't limited to the rich as a former acquaintance of mine was jailed for 30 days and fined close to $3000. The judge let him serve Saturdays and Sundays for like 4 months so he wouldn't lose his job. He's a social degenerate so I suppose he has that in common with Jamal Lewis.

You also mentioned the lack of freedom of speech. Surely, you know that the vehicles they use for the transmission of their program is owned by the taxpayers. You may not agree with the standards in place but I promise you that the Supreme Court would side with the FCC. That's why Howard Stern is going to SIRI, different rules and different ballgame.

What annoyed you about the Florida election? I'm sure that you're aware that there are sources to support the assertions of both sides. Please don't mention the hanging chads. A vote is only a vote when you follow the instructions.

My intentions, as always, are to question aloud the motives/thought processes of all thoses that identifiy themselves as, or affiliate themselves with a particular candidate/ party. People epitomized by the likes of that fake blonde, pseudo intellectual, Ann Coulter. That people allow themselves to be categorized as "liberals" and "republicans" abd allow their inherent freedom be bantied about and debated by two figure heads is incomprehensible to me.

That people will judge others based upon their political stripe is mind boggling. That individuals and groups thereof allow such a small number of other individuals and groups thereof dictate what they can and can't do is frustratingly absurd.

That people will kill other human beings in far off lands at the behest of a few individuals they have never met face to face is surreal. That people will die for the cause of another man is beyond all logic. That people put so much faith in other people to control their lives is absolutely frightening.

That people care so much about what other people do with their lives is maddening beyond belief.

That people rather fund a war machine than take care of their immediate neighbour in need is sickening.

That people BELIEVE their GOVERNMENT exists for the benefit of the masses drives me INSANE.

One more time, for those who just refuse to listen, government exists solely to steal your money, in exchange for services that would otherwise be provided, while lining the pockets of those in power. PERIOD. END OF STORY. It is a means of controlling wealth and ensuring those with all the power and money keep all the power and money. PERIOD. Governments seek to control and keep down the masses. PERIOD.

My mistake was singling out America specifically, as it is now a global effort of all those with power and money to control the world's resources and people. They dress it up in talk about protecting rights and freedoms ... rights and freedoms that ONLY GOVERNMENTS can TAKE AWAY (see the PAtriot Act, and every other piece of legislation ever produced) ...

My point is .... if nobody voted, if every single person just woke the eff up and saw that if they did not ALLOW others to tell them what to do ... then nobody could tell them what to do. You wouldn't hate your liberal neighbour, you wouldn't want to beat up your conservative teacher.

You see, I actially listened to what John Lennon was saying and I took the time to IMAGINE !! IMAGINE a world of free individuals living for themselves and their families and their friends and their neighbours. Imagine a world where we actually gave a damn about the planet and not where our next dollar was coming from. A world where people realized WE ARE ALL THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT OUR GOVERNMENTS and RELIGIONS TELL US.

I say rise above the morass of humanity and be better individuals before you ask anybody else to do anything, let alone LEAD YOU.

PS- If you don't like what Stern says - TURN THE EFFING RADIO DIAL !!

Meanstreak....I can relate to a number of points you have made.....

about the government....less is better....would like to see more back to the course of defending the country and using taxmoney to provide upkeep for the infrastructure.......less attention to matters of morality, who's getting married or whether or not a flag is on fire = all worthless pursuits....

In this day and age running off to war for your country in a fit of blind patriotism will probably just get you killed fighting someone else's civil war or lining some politician's pocket......wars fought in self defense are few and far between nowadays......

agree with you about the Stern comment.....just turn the radio dial......seems though that the religious conservatives don't know how to turn that dial onto a station of thier choice......the religious right build thier churches and protest everytime a strip club or video store or something that insults thier personal taste comes to town......the protesters all show up in front of the shops and make a big stink at the town meeting......yet come church time there's no one protesting thier choices.....could it be that the liberals are living thier own lives and minding thier own business, and exercising thier right to choose? Could it be any simpler than choosing what you like?

Bottom line.....more and more I'm just trying to live my own life, just hope that the world can stay together for another thirty or forty years......maybe I can stash away enough money so that when retirement comes I won't be shocked quite as much when my social security check bounces (but hey, the standard of living should be pretty good in Iraq figuring all the $$$ dumped into that $hithole on oil).....then when I croak the world can come unglued at the seams for all I care......man, I'm tired of trying to make a difference, just looking out for number one more and more.....

What would be your position if say I wanted to kill someone on a TV show sort of reality TV gone bad? We could call it "My big, fat, obnoxious life" and it wouldn't be murder because we could find someone in immense debt or no prospects or someone with a terminal illness and pay them to star in our show. Would that be OK?

Cujo.....my position would be one along the lines of "consenting adults".....I seriously doubt anyone would consent to thier own murder....

Kevorkian was just helping out the people who watched hundreds of thousands of people die of the same circumstances as thier own....should be no problem with pursuit of one's own happiness and destiny, but I guess that depends on who is doing the suffering and who is saying the suffering should continue.....

Maybe a reality show could start up along the lines of public executions of convicts on death row.....show would have to be based in Texas....anywhere else in the US would make the show an annual event.....

To address your other point it wouldn't be murder as only people that signed would be allowed to participate thus my inclusion of terminal people or others that can't dig themselves out of debt or people that have little alternatives. Say I go to Joe Blow and tell him that I'd pay him $500,000 to torture him and ultimately end his life through whatever means were agreed in advance for our entertainment. Desperation can estrange common sense in an emergency. Also, there's no telling how many people would do it just to be on TV.
