We all know there are a lot of Cubs fans everywhere. We all know that the Cubbies have not won a world series since 1908.. Geez, 1908.. wow, let me see here.. in 1908, I was ummm negative 57 yrs old. Geez, that is young.. We all know that there are a lot of people who have that love for the Cubs like for no other team.. And we all know how we've all followed them on WGN everyday of our lives and have grown accustomed to them. We love Sammy, and we all would love to see good ol Samuel smiling and crying in the clubhouse, while they pour champagne on his fat head, especially after this year, after we all felt so sorry for the kid.. I think we'll all agree that it would be priceless right now to hear Sammy say.."baseball been bery bery good to me"
We even love Harry Caray... we loved em all.. And we all know how horrible they have been in the last 20 yrs finishing near the bottom almost every year..
But what's incredible is.. as I watch this game now, I can't stop believing that my Cubbies, that I grew up watching and have been losers all this time, even though it's still very early, are now only 15 outs away from going to the World Series. Wow, who is to say. Imagine that, it's still hard to even say.. The Cubs are 15 outs away from going to the World Series.. I almost have a tear in my eye just thinking about it. If they do win it, I think I really will get emotional. After all this waiting (95 yrs) it will really feel like the air is fresher and easier to breathe again.
All I know is.. there's gotta be a lot of happy people in their living rooms as we speak now across America. How can you not be cheering for the Cubs. I just can't see anyone (unless they have money on Fla) cheering for Florida.
Good luck Cubs.. I think they're going to do it.. and only for this man right here,
cause you know he's watching from the heavens above and singing his favorite song right here..
