to any of you guys...that "don't get it"..or "think it's boring"...or "a waste of time"....i know y'all love women(at least i think and hope u do)....go to opening day at del mar....or show up at saratoga..any day of the summer meet...hit the infield of pimlico on preakness day...or buy a suit and go to a day at the races in australia or any big day in France or the UK...the women alone at all of the above mentioned places will have yer heads spinning fer months...yeah, maybe you don't have the bread or the game to land these broads, but you will understand the sport of kings a lil better....as previously mentioned...it's a lifestyle you either gravitate to or are born into....pack a cooler and show up at any stateside track on a beautiful day with friends and family and enjoy the day...it's definitely a trip..cheers
I love it as well. I go to the track 5 nights a week (Woodbine / Mohawk). Owned horses for the last 15 years. Seems most of my friends are now people I met through racing.
But I understand why some people don't like it. It takes a fair amount of "work" or studying, in order to get any type of edge. I find that a lot of people who don't like it are action junkies. Years ago, before simulcasting, you had to wait 25 minutes between races. Now, if you like, you can make a bet every 2 or 3 minutes on various tracks.
Oh, for what's worth, I made $1300 at the track last night......

i get chills when the horses load the for the derby....go to the preakness every year and am front row trackside. theres simply nothing better then being at the track on a nice day. sun, cigars, booze, gambling, broads....

Best betting available, you are playing against most people that don't have a clue. I usually handicap a card for 4 hours, watching replays drilling past performances before I go to the track.

a few years ago I bet $15 into a tri on the arlington million and it paid over 8000
I have hit many trifectas, and supers that have paid 2000 or more.
If you put your time in handicapping it is the best sport to bet. And you should of heard me yell when my 8-1 won the last race of the pick four on friday of this years breeders cup. I was a nervous wreck before and during the 2 minutes of the race.

This is the absolute truth!!!! Nothing beats the rush of beating the horses!!! I love animals and the shit that happens in certain barns to the horses pissess me right the Fuck off but for the most part is a great sport and it can break you quicker than any other type of gambling but it is a great time trying...
unless your trying to make a living at it, screw alllll the factor etc. etc. Just play your lucky numbers, cool names, 2 long shot and a fav.... The stats are for the true handicappers... the rest is for the fun of gambling... Just dont let yourself get carried away... just for fun and a little gambling...
You tell me how anyone can get excited watching soccer, I mean if your actually playing it's a good game, but to watch on tv??????????? And don't come with it's the worlds most popular sport because all you need is a some open land, and ball which could be made of a bunch of rags tied into a ball, so even the poorest kid in the poorest town on earth can play.
