Why haven't we found a cure for this????

It's terrifying stuff. Saw a documentary about it the other night and can't shake it.

I'm sure nearly everyone here has known someone who had this disease. 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

Terrible, Terrible disease....

My wife's grandmother is in the late stages of the disease. Its very hard to comprehend. She just sits there with a blank look on her face all day. Doesn't speak, needs help doing everything. Makes you wonder if she knows anything anymore.

Wouldn't wish it on my biggest enemy.

This is one of the many reasons stem cell research is so important.

When I was younger we had an old guy that lived in the house across the street from us. He had alzheimers but was the happiest old man. He would even joke about it and always say he loved it because he gets to meet new people everyday. He is never stressed because he doesn't bring any "baggage" from yesterday to today. And got to watch "new" movies all the time lol. His alzheimers wasnt that bad but he loved to joke about everything. I hope I can be that "happy old man" when I reach that age and not a bitter old grump.

Sorry to hear that,Shub

thanks. It must be extremely hard for my grandmother, they have been married for 66 years. Now she lives all by herself. Almost impossible to fill that void.
