Not a great day yesterday but looking to change things around tonight. Here are the four game that I like. See you all after tonights action!!!
5 Units Tulsa -5
Both teams are tied in the WAC. Unfortunately, they are both 4-12, tied for second-to-last place in the WAC! Last week, Southern Methodist fired coach Mike Dement, a day after the Mustangs lost to Boise at home, 89-50! SMU assistant Robert Lineberg took over, and SMU lost 81-71 at home to UTEP and failed to cover. Again. The Mustangs have lost 13 of their last 17 games. SMU is just 5-9 SU, 7-5 ATS on the road, where the offense musters just 61 ppg. 6’-9” junior Patrick Simpson (11 ppg, 6 rpg), 6’-8” junior Eric Castro (10 ppg, 6 rpg), and sophomore guard Bryan Hopkins (16 ppg) lead the way, but they are playing lazy defense (44% shooting allowed). Tulsa (8-18 SU, 6-16 ATS) is a guard-oriented team with little height, led by 6’-2” senior Jason Parker (18 ppg) and 6’-6” junior forward Jarius Glenn (12 ppg, 6 rpg). But Tulsa is 6-6 SU/3-7 ATS at home where they outscore foes by a 68-66 average. Tulsa is breathing a sigh of relief, as they just ended an 8-game losing streak with a 65-64 win at San Jose. When these teams met on January 6, Tulsa lost 67-58 at SMU, but they have home court and should win their second in a row!!!
