BC (R: 2-5 SU, 3-3 ATS; 3-5 Big East) snapped a three game losing streak by defeating Notre Dame 76-69 on Wednesday. Jermaine Watson scored 16 of his career-high 22 points and Craig Smith scored 20 points. Uka Agbai enjoyed a solid seven-point, eight-rebound night. The Eagles scored eight of the last nine points in the first half to take a 33-28 lead into halftime. After losing to Pittsburgh 71-51 on Wednesday, St. John's expelled one basketball player and permanently suspended two others Thursday night, hours after a woman was arrested for allegedly lying to police about being raped by several players the night before. St. John's said it had expelled senior Grady Reynolds, who was arrested before last season on charges he pushed a female student against a wall. The school also permanently suspended leading scorer Elijah Ingram, a sophomore, and senior Abraham Keita, pending expulsion hearings. Two other players, freshman Lamont Hamilton and senior Mohammed Diakite, were also suspended, and another player, freshman Tyler Jones, would be disciplined. Under the circumstances it's hard to imagine who will be available for play on Saturday. BC rolls on!!!

Texas will try to hang on to first place in the Big 12 against rival Oklahoma here. Texas is 6-1 in the Big, tied with Oklahoma State and Kansas for first. Oklahoma (14-4) is decent on the road (3-3 SU/ATS), though they average just 62 ppg away from home. Oklahoma is led by 6'-5" senior Jason Detrick and 6'-10" senior Jabahri Brown, and a couple of youngsters in freshman G Drew Lavender and freshman Lawrence McKenzie. Texas (15-3) averages 88 ppg at home where they are 11-2 SU/4-5 ATS. The Longhorns have 6'-5" freshman P.J. Tucker and 6'-8" James Thomas averaging over 6 rebounds per game under the boards, while 6'-4" senior Brandon Mouton (12 ppg) runs the backcourt. Texas brings the defense at home allowing 68 ppg. Texas won last year's meeting on this court, 67-61, in a game that went UNDER the total, and with both teams capable of playing tough 'D', this might be a Big 12 defensive battle, as well.
7 Units Dayton -4.5 -102
The season's second meeting for these two, and the first one wasn't pretty: Dayton rolled 83-55 over UMass last month. UMass plays its best ball at home (7-4 SU, 3-4 ATS), but Dayton is unbeaten in the A-10 (8-0) and a terrific road team at 6-2 SU/5-3 ATS. Dayton (18-3 SU, 8-0 Atlantic 10) has great defense allowing 40% shooting and has strong balance with Ramod Marshall (14.5 ppg), and a monster frontcourt of 6'-8" senior Keith Waleskowski (12 points, 10 rebounds per game) and 7-foot senior Sean Finn (7.2 boards per game). UMass is a poor defensive team, allowing 45% shooting, and note that UMass shoots just 63% from the free throw line! UMass (9-11) is decent at home, but Dayton is rolling, unbeaten in the Atlantic 10, plays great defense AND can hit from the charity stripe!!!

#1 Duke (19-1 SU, 12-7 ATS) showed why they are at the top of the heap after slipping North Carolina, 83-81 SU in OT. Now Duke gets a chance to ease up as they face Clemson (9-10, 8-7 ATS). Clemson took the week off after surprising Carolina at Home, 81-72 SU. The problem with Clemson is that ALL of their wins have come at Home. They are a shocking 0-7 SU on the Road. THERE IS NO DOUBT that they will be 0-8 SU, after this one. Never mind that they are giving up 74 points a game at Home. Never mind that they are only scoring 63 points a game on the Road. Never mind that Duke has already drilled them once, 73-54 SU. Nevermind that Clemson is already 0-7 ATS as a Road Underdog. Never mind that Duke gave up 81 points to UNC and Coack K will be all over them like Bobby Knight in a Texas diner about tightening up the Defense. This all means nothing because now Clemson has to play in Cameron Indoor after Duke just beat their hated rival North Carolina and they are #1. That crowd will be off the hook. No one with a losing record goes into Cameron Indoor and pushes Duke around. Sorry Tigers, but Clemson is going to lose badly, again!!!
