Here are the early games with the night action to follow later. Be sure to check back so that you don't miss any plays!!!

7 Units Connecticut -15 -105

Duke rotated its quarterbacks in a 27-12 loss at Navy last Saturday but they combined for only 90 yards passing. Sophomore Mike Schneider was 8-of-13 for 59 yards while senior Chris Dapolito finished 5-of-7 for 51 yards. Cedric Dargan was the bright spot for the Blue Devils rushing for 114 yards on 20 carries, including 101 yards in the first half. Duke returns only five starters on offense and it doesn’t bode well for the offense to struggle against a Navy team not exactly known for its defense. Connecticut romped against Murray State 52-14 as quarterback Dan Orlovsky tied a career-high with 382 passing yards and five touchdowns. The Huskies have won six in a row going back to last season and have high hopes in their first season in the Big East as they return 16 starters. Running Back Terry Caulley who was the nation’s leader rusher until he was injured in the fifth game last year will sit out this season but sophomore Matt Lawrence fared well finishing with 76 yards on 18 carries. Defensively UConn returns virtually its entire linebacking corps and secondary. Connecticut has the big edge on both sides of the ball and should win this contest in a rout.

7 Units Washington State -3 -103

Note: This game is technically at a neutral site, being played in Seattle, but WSU has a large Alumni following.

Colorado dominated play in the first quarter, on a pair of one-yard touchdown runs by Bobby Purify and Joel Klatt gave the Buffaloes a 14-0 lead before they held on for a 27-24 win over instate rival Colorado State Saturday. Purify ran for 189 yards on 26 carries. In the fourth quarter, Brian Iwuh picked off a pass and returned it 37 yards for a score to extend Colorado's lead to 27-17. A fourth quarter blocked kick set the Wassu wheels in motion and led to a go ahead score as the Cougs defeated New Mexico 21-17. Replacing All Everything QB Joe Gesser, Josh Swogger passed for three touchdowns on 24-of-38 for 240 yards. Troy Bienemann had 56 yards receiving and hauled in the critical touchdown pass while Trandon Harvey caught six balls for 46 yards with a score. The WSU losses on defense have been mounting over the past couple of seasons and this year the team has nine new starters on that side of the ball. In fact, there is only one starter returning from the entire front seven, middle linebacker Will Derting. Fortunately for the Cougars, Derting is one of the top linebackers in the nation. The Cougars could be in trouble every time Purify breaks through the front line and challenges WSU defenders in the middle of the field. Washington State is certainly going to have a game on its hands. Last year Wassu won easily 47-28 but they did have Gesser throwing. Washington State is 15-2 SU, 9-6 ATS at home the last three years.

5 Units Louisville -22.5 -108

The Cardinals had a pretty easy time in the second half against rival Kentucky last week and get another opportunity for stat buiding in upstate New York Saturday against the Cadets of Army. The Cardinals smacked the Wildcats 28-0 with a defense that took a big step in the season opener. The Cardinals allowed the Wildcats to rush for only 66 yards, forced three turnovers, returned an interception for a touchdown. Expect the offense to score plenty. The Cadets were winless a year ago and unfortunately for Army, wins will come at a premium once again. The good news is that while they're not particularly talented or deep, Army (LY; 0-11 SU, 5-8 ATS) does have 18 returning starters so games should be a little closer this time around under first-year coach Bobby Ross. Louisville scored a 34-10 win as a 32 point favorite a year ago over Army and will be hard pressed to keep up with the Cardinals offensive power. Louisville was 5-2 OVER the total last year enroute to a (LY: 9-4 SU, 4-7 ATS) mark.

5 Units Ohio +17½ -110

Ohio tried out its new pass offense and it worked almost perfectly as the Bobcats finished with 459 yards of total offense in a 42-14 win over VMI. Quarterback Ryan Hawk was 13-of-24 for 223 yards and Justin Roush, who missed all but one game last year due to injury, rushed for 130 yards on 16 carries and freshman Kalvin McRae ran for 100 yards on 18 carries. Pittsburgh's opening game against South Florida was postponed due to Hurricane Francis. The Panthers face a rebuilding job especially on offense where they return only three starters and lose quarterback Rod Rutherford and Heisman Trophy runner-up Larry Fitzgerald at wide receiver. Pitt's defense also is suspect with seven starters returning from a squad that allowed more 400 yards per game last season. Ohio's new offense and the fact that it has a game under it's belt makes this a good spot for the underdog.

5 Units Wake Forest -15 -110

In a barnburner last week, Wake Forest began their season losing in two overtimes to the 15th ranked Clemson Tigers 37-30. Chris Barclay rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown for Wake, which has lost 26 straight road games against ranked foes. The Deacons didn't lose this one without a fight, however. They trailed, 19-3, in the second quarter when Ben Mauk replaced Cory Randolph at quarterback and threw an 85-yard TD pass to Jason Anderson, who caught seven passes for 139 yards. Eight starters are back on defense, but they allowed 28.9 points per game, which was the weak link in a 5-7 SU/ATS season. They certainly have plenty of experience on the defense to improve, although the poor 'D' was why they went 6-2 OVER the total. East Carolina began this season pretty much where they left off a year ago losing 56-23 to West Virginia last week. The Mountaineers are the class of the weakened Big East Conference and are targeting a BCS berth. James Pinkney threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns, but much of that came when the game was already decided. He also threw two interceptions. East Carolina was outscored by a 35-18 average a year ago and it appears that nothing has changed, the Deacons get the "W".

7 Units California -37 -107

New Mexico State (3-9 overall in 2003) doesn't have much defense and that will hurt badly here. NM State has a good running game (211 yards rushing, 198 yards passing per game in 2003), but the defense gave up 66 points at Texas, 48 at Arkansas and allowed 28 ppg for the year. They love to run the football, but won't get much chance to do that here. New Mexico State was drilled 63-13 at Arkansas last week, allowing 302 passing yards and 221 rushing yards. And Cal knows something about offense, after ripping Air Force 56-14 last week on the road. Jeff Tedford's wide-open air attack should roll and notice that Cal also had 342 rushing yards against Air Force!!! Cal steps down in competition here, which means another easy win!!!

10 Units Alabama -13

I told you the "Post-Manning" era was going to start rough. How rough? Besides losing to C-USA opponent Memphis 20-13 SU, Mississippi's new QB, Michael Spurlock, was just 11 for 31 passing with 182 yards. These figures are hardly Manning-esque! The whole offense only managed 240 yards. Ole Miss (0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS) now gets to travel to determined Alabama and open the SEC West campaign. Alabama (1-0 SU, 1-0 ATS) started the year by smashing Utah State 48-17 SU. Bama QB, Bradie Croyle, was a fantastic 16/22 for 205 yards passing with 2 TD's. Bama's revived defense held Utah State to just 61 yards rushing and 240 yards of total offense. Last year, "Ole Manning" beat up Bama 43-28 SU at Mississippi. Interestingly, most of the damage in that game came from Ole Miss' ground game (50 carries, 216 yards). There is very little chance of a similar outcome. It looks like the return of the 2 front line fellas to Bama's front 7 is going to be a lot of help. The Tide is looking to punish all those SEC upstarts who achieved success on the back of Bama's probation. Ole Miss will be the first candidate for revenge and there are simply defenseless on both sides of the ball. Roll Tide!!!

7 Units Utah State -11

It is now time for the first Sun Belt clash of the season! We know, everyone can't wait. Will the Gameplan have it? Who knows! Call your local operator! Utah State (0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS) looks to start their Sun Belt title effort against Idaho (0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS). Idaho is coming off a total smashing by in-state rival, Boise State, 65-7 SU. Utah State took a beating by Alabama 48-17 SU. Utah State really is the better team. Idaho shocked the world by beating Utah State 20-13 SU last season to end the year. Don't think the Aggies forgot that one! Idaho really has nothing to offer. Idaho put up just 91 yards passing and just 212 total yards last week. They were also just 3 for 16 on 3rd down. Boise State, of course, rolled on offense (572 total yards). Utah State will look to improve on its paltry 61 yards rushing last week. Utah State should drive the first stake in the ground towards the Sun Belt crown.

Good Luck Tonight,
