The girlfriend and I are looking to do an all-inclusive trip late this year or early into 2015. We haven't been dating long and are not looking to break the bank on this trip. We would like to spend probably no more than $5,000 total for accommodations plus flight. We are going for one week and just looking for something relaxing (adults only), relatively new or renovated, and good liquor choices (not cheap stuff).

Many places have been suggested, like the following:

Sandals Whitehouse
Sandals St. Lucia (a little high for us price wise)
Excellence Punta Cana
Secrets

If anyone has any suggestions at all, I would certainly appreciate it!

I have never been on one but have to ask is all-inclusive similar to a cruise ship? I just went on my first cruise last month and paid an additional $1400 on board in random things for a boat where everything was "free"

On the cruise ship, I had an additional bar tab. At every all-inclusive resort I've gone to, the bar was always included. Most activities were included too. I've gone scuba diving, boats, sight seeing.

that is good to know. I don't mind the tipping.

but on the ship I had to pay for my bar tab, we played bingo and deal or no deal and had to pay to play. Meals at a few of the eateries had admission fees ($15-$25) and purchased a few other things (spa package, massage, etc.)

Been to Temptaion in Cancun 5 times, spring break for adults - me and the wife love.

Take one of Steves Boobs cruises while you are there.

Shop it around I do the trip fom Fla 4 on the cheap.

Sandals are nice properties.

I would look at Jamaica, Punta Cana and Riviera Maya. Lots of options there for A/I's.
Avoid anything in Cancun.

If you pick a destination i can help more.

Paradisus Punta Cana Resort

http://www.melia.com/en/hotels/domi...na/paradisus-punta-cana-resort/index.html#Was there this past Dec. Great Place ! Good Food, ok Casino ( hard Rock not far if you want bigger Casino )
Shows are ok, nothing special. But the Food was way above Par. Help was great... sometimes Too Great
If you can get away without a Butler ... do it and save $$$ ( that's the Royal or Butler Service ) But a Good deal overall

Stay away from the Club Meliá Timeshare thing. You will save 2 hours of your Vacation.

Probably will cost about $4K Including Airfare
