Cleveland browns +4.5!!!!!
I like CLE this week though you may have made this play to early. Line is up to 6 or higher
Fidel, you seem like a nice guy... so I don't want this to sound like I'm being an asshole.
BUT!
"Max play" and "Cleveland Browns" has said no man in the same sentence ... EVER!!!
Of course, every team will cover every now and then... but to put a max play, whether it's $50, $500 or $50,000... on the Cleveland Browns?
You know, sometimes I like to employ visualization with my picks. For instance, I'm a Browns' backer this weekend:
Here we are in the 4th and we're down 6 points. Who do we have as QB? Who do we have as our coach? So when your sphincter tightens up and you've got 50K on the line and you've got four downs to move it forward.... by God, look at who the fuck you have to count on!!! I'd just set my ticket down and jump off the roof if I was in that situation with the Browns. And believe me, with the Browns you'll almost always be in that situation.
Now let's look at this in another way. I've just backed the Pats. I need them to come through. Pats have the ball. I've got the hoodie, Brady and the Gronk...
you see the difference?
You may win this one, but the bottom line is that over time when you have "max plays" on the line, you'll want to be backed by the best. And in this case you'll have the Browns.
Good luck.
Browns score the 3rd fewest pts in the AFC.
If you can get out of this bet live at another book, I'd do that if the chance arises early in the game....
I understand runmaker's aversion to the Browns, but I respectfully disagree that max bets should reserved for good teams. Generally speaking there is better value when betting on bad teams. The Titans are as woeful as the Browns -- their head coach is 4-34 SU in his last 37 but I felt excellent about them at +7 last week. Now, my "max play" is only 4 units, so it is still a small fraction of my bankroll at any given time, but if the price is right, I would be happy to put a max bet on a bad team. I actually like my cards when they have bad teams on them. I am on a good team tonight, the Pats, but I also know I am paying a tax, because the best teams in the league are taxed by the books. Every week the book needs the Browns, the Titans, the Jags etc... and they end up doing ok, certainly better than the betting public.
I think Fidel is on the right side though I am waiting to see how high the line gets (6 now)
