The real joke is that they come out with these rankings at all. It's solely to stir up debate just like this thread. None of it matters because it's all going to play itself out. All the Big 12 contenders play each other over the next month. Ohio St. plays MSU with the winner playing Iowa in the title game & Alabama, LSU & Florida will eliminate each other eventually. Pretty much everyone controls their own destiny. Win out & you get in the final 4, lose & your almost definitely out.
The rankings will take care of themselves but Alabama is a better team than Baylor. That's what the committee is for, to pick the 4 best teams, not the 4 prettiest teams. If Baylor is a top 4 team then they will win out and prove it. But blowout wins against no name st university doesn't make u a top 4 team.
The committee should (subtly) give the good looks (and other attributes) of the cheerleaders who contribute to their team when they determine who the play-off teams will be. After all, they insert more than "cheers" to up-lift the moral of the team......some will even take the "edge-off" some of the boys on a one-on-one basis...... I think that ought to be worth something. Coaching, talent and X's & O's are worth a lot but team moral is important too.

Bama being top 4 this week is irrelevant. If they beat LSU they were always going to be top 4 next week anyway and whichever team loses will drop out. but picking Baylor as the team that should be ahead of them is pretty comical as they might be the least deserving power 5 unbeaten
I think they did a good job, I would actually put Bama #3 and Ohio State #4. For the first poll its spot on imo. Sometimes it is as simple as an eyeball test, not that a team is undefeated... all the teams in the hunt have schedules that are back loaded and a lot of this will take care of itself.
you cannot be serious? you think Memphis is going to go undefeated playing an SEC conference schedule because they had a boise state moment ? We have seen this so many times in a 1 game situation where big brother looks past little brother for the next giant on the schedule and shit happens. Winning one big game in a year does not make you a great team or a great program..do it every week for about 8-10 years then you will have the respect you seek..
i'm part of the group that thinks Bama shouldnt be top 4...beat even this is absurd.
Bama has played a fine schedule. Wisky, though not great is a competent team. So is Tenny, UGa, Ark, Miss.....not great. All have multiple flaws. But competitive teams.
Bama will get its test vs LSU, fortunately it's in Tuscaloosa. I guess Bama would also face a very good Florida team.
