I guess it would be fair to ask whether Florida will score against the Alabama defense when you look at their quarterback situation. The indoor environment at the Georgia Dome could help a decent Gator running game especially if Scarlett is healthy. The only hope for a Florida cover (against the spread) would be caused by a Herculean effort by their defense against an Alabama offense that has been improving every week....especially at QB and the Tide would over-look this game in anticipation of their on-coming #1 seed in the play-offs.

It is a sad state of disparity for the SEC when you have one team a (24) point favorite (and counting) in their Championship Game. Is Alabama that good or, are the also ran's in the Conference that bad ? It might be a combination of both.

only larger dog for Florida in last 35 years was 2013 vs FSU as a +28.5 underdog.

This is the largest underdog that Florida has ever been in for a SEC game. The previous high was +17 in last year's SEC title game and +15.5 before that, at Bama in 2014 regular season

I feel Alabama is [that] good this year; You don't steam-roll through an SEC schedule undefeated unless you are loaded with talent that coalesces as the season plays-out. Too many mine-fields (ambushes) in the SEC that a team must deal with to win a football game week-in and week-out (just ask Tennessee what happened last Saturday).
Add the fact that 12 or 13 game schedules are beyond the capacity of most 19 & 20 year-old kids to deal with (physically & mentally). This 2016 team could, arguably, go down as one of the best Alabama teams ever. We shall see (a lot of play-off games are left to deal with.....a lot of ambushes lay in waiting).

RT, don't know what your thoughts are, but that line leads me to believe those key D players for the Gators will be out again, and if so, I'd say the line is easily justified.

SEC conference is weak this year and Alabama is Alabama. Looks a lot like Ohio State when the Big 10 was down for all those years and they dominated their conference.

Jordan Sherit (knee) will be out for the game and will need surgery, Jim McElwain said on Monday. Sherit joins seven other starters on the list of injured players that won’t be available this weekend.

Starters out
Defensive lineman Jordan Sherit (knee)
Defensive lineman Bryan Cox (ankle)
Safety Marcus Maye (arm)
Safety Nick Washington (high ankle sprain)
Linebacker Alex Anzalone (arm)
Linebacker Jarrad Davis (ankle)
Center Cam Dillard (knee)

Freshman safety Jeawon Taylor will also miss the game after injuring his shoulder on special teams. Starting left guard Martez Ivey left the field following Florida’s loss on crutches. Duke Dawson (ankle) and Ahmad Fulwood will be evaluated this week.

Bama are a buncha cheaters. You don't become 10pts better than every other team in college football for MULTIPLE years without some secret. PEDs, Recruiting Violations, Cheating grades, something is going on.

The Gators will definitely show-up Saturday. No doubt, Florida is way over their heads but the irony of it all is that many of the players don't realize it. The line has edged its way up to (24) by bettors thinking the same way we do. The odds-makers must certainly be aware of all the defensive injuries plaguing Florida's strong card (defense), yet they opened at (-21').

I like the angle that even a great, well-coached team like Alabama can be vulnerable to "look-ahead-itis" with their # (1) seed in the play-offs secure. They have nothing to gain by a 35 point or more blow-out win. Another, very hidden slant is the "input" from the SEC referees.....A competitive game makes the conference look good; A call that can go either-way (need I mention a holding or pass interference call) might lean toward the Gators.

Me: I plan take the (25) points and make a small wager on Florida and then watch the Gators score on a field-goal (they have a good place kicker) and then, see Alabama be good sports and "allow" them to score a touch-down via the back door. Final score (34-10).......Alabama still King on top of the SEC hill.

Good luck to those that "play" the game.

In my mind at this point, the "real" competition here will not be between Bama and the Gators but rather between the Tide's O and D, which side's performance is the best. JM2Cents.

I'm an SEC fan, being in Mississippi. The SEC is way down this year. Look at MS State and Ole Miss. Hard to believe they were no. 1 and 2 not too long ago. Neither one qualified for a bowl this year.

Florida with NO QB or passing threat will be lucky to score double digits. It will take a play similar to the fumbled punt ran back for a TD against FSU to get them to 10+. LSU no passing threat. Auburn offense no passing threat. This weekend Bama holds Florida with no passing threat to 6 points. Is Bama's defense REALLY that good or is it just a matter of stacking a huge, strong front 7 against the run versus teams that have no QB or passing threat??

I've watched them at least half a dozen times this season and the only "entertaining" game from a fan in the stands point of view would have been the LSU game...yeah, they are that damn good. This is just an ugly match-up IMO, No. 1 D against the 114th ranked O and a really banged up D. This one could be covered in the first half.

I agree Mack. I know Bama is great and all, but it doesn't say much for the rest of the conference.

Big 10 far better overall this season GS. Weird year for the SEC for sure, and I gotta believe any of the four that make it in can win. That being said, God help Florida Saturday, I'm loading up the cannons.
