Thru 6 or 7 Corrales was shuting him out? What a fuking idiot. I have a theory as to how judging should be performed but we'll get into that another day. I've hung out and drank with this guy before and I like him in person and think he's a good and usually smart guy but he's been getting worse and worse since he took over for Bobby. He should of just worn a shirt tonight that said "I want to have Diego's baby".

I mean he was beyond fuking horrible and took bias commentary to a whole different level then even the HBO guys can take it to on occasion. I will have to watch this fight again but I think it would have been a good draw. If I had to give it to anybody I would give it to Cassamayoer if I was forced to. Diego was more active but Cassamoyer was landing the harder shots.

I wouldnt argue with a Corrales by one or two points argument but Al was just being a fuking moron.

Also, when he said they were fighting for arguably the best fighter at 130 spot he showed that he's kind of an idiot. With an even line (a pick) I will put 10 grand on Morales against either of them. And after last week I dont think he's invincable as I have thought.

i`ve had a problem with bernstein since his espn days......

i was always very disappointed when they would have horrible show after horrible show and he would comment on the fights like they were really good fights..when he was commentator, espn fights were almost always weak...they`ve gotten much better.....but,he NEVER gave honest commentary....he was a terrible shill for the network...usa`s fights were almost always superior to espn shows back then...

but,i figured, the guy works for espn....he basically had to try and make it seem interesting.....sometimes it was actually funny, the fights were so bad...

again,i never thought the guy was very good...i think many guys on this board know more boxing than bernstein...

he was "a bit" biased tonight....lol...

but,again...to be fair....i think thanks to mcgirt`s terrible game plan, basically pissing many early rounds away by running,i think corrales did enough...but i thought it was close...

but,for eight rounds,it was like an amateur bout....you could count the "solid" scoring shots on both hands...that was for both guys...

i thought it was a boring bout until the 9th...

not anxious to see a rematch..

Well Teddy does that same thing. I dont think the ESPN fights as of late have been anything special but even the BS fights on the undercard Teddy is analyzing those bums like its a world class fight. Maybe the ESPN guys are instructing them to do that.

I do think that Bernstein knows his boxing I just think he's been doing a bad job as of late - HORRIBLE tonight. We were actually debating the stoppage of the Tszyu vs Judah fight after the fight at a bar in the MGM and I thought Al was a pretty intelligent guy and Bobby was kind of a meathead. But he's seriously being an idiot as of late. I thought the last Hatton and Freitas fights he was pretty bad also.

Spinch, I didnt hear Buddy giving Cassamayor that bad of advice but maybe I wasnt listening that closely. I thought I heard him contradict himself once but I wasnt sure. I've had a few beers but I remember one round he told him to do one thing and then at the next break he told him to do the opposite. Anyway, I dont know if I would blame it on Buddy. Plus, the language barrier has to be tough because that translator was losing some of what Buddy was saying when he was translating.

Anyway, I dont want to see a rematch either. At least not right away.

Corrales clearly won. Very few people gave that fight to Casamayor. I had a LOT of cash thrown down the drain because Corrales won by decision but he did win. Casamayor ran like a little bitch in the early rounds and got outworked. My scorecard was .....

Round 1- Casa
Round 2- Diego
Round 3- Diego
Round 4- Diego
Round 5- Casa
Round 6- Diego
Round 7- Diego
Round 8- Diego
Round 9- Casa
Round 10- Casa 10-8
Round 11- Diego
Round 12- Casa

Round 1 could have actually been called even IMO for a 7-4-1 victory for Corrales. None of the rounds I gave to Corrales did Casamayor deserve. Good decision, I thought Diego was going to get ripped off (although it would have saved my ass)

I thought he was going to get ripped off too, and I needed Corrales to win, so I was nervous.

About AL... at one time Casamayor hit Corrales with a left hook, and Al said "Nice left hook by Diego Corrales" Huh? Maybe he had their names wrong. But I also think Corrales diserved the victory. Also, my pet peeve is when fighters get cut, they stop in mid action and paw at the blood. In this case it was a head butt. Hello? What don't you understand about protect yourself at all times.

Bernstein's comments did not effect the outcome
of the fight. These guys get paid to make the
most mundane nonsense sound interesting. A hockey team will be done by 5 goals with two
minutes left, score a goal, and the commentators
will say thay are back in it! Corrales fought a
better fight. He displayed better ring generalship and was the aggressor, albeit not
always effective. His defense was respectable
and he worked just that much more harder than Joel to win a close fight. If any one lost money, and I think someone did, it's unfortunate, but it isn't because of Bernstein.

i lost money on casamayor......but,i also had corrales doing enough to win.....

or rather, casamayor NOT doing enough to win.....

he may not have lost every round up to the ninth, but he damn sure tried...

no beef from me....except about mcgirt`s gameplan......after seeing casamayor hurt corrales and beat him to the punch time and again in the first bout, you have a guy that`s anywhere from 4 to 6 inches shorter with a 3 to 4 inch reach disadvantage running away and staying way outside????????

a reach and height disadvantage and you stay far enough away as to make it impossible to land anything to keep the guy honest?....basically giving away round after round?....

now i`ve seen super trainers mcgirt and mayweather look dumb as rocks in 2 big fights....i won`t be fooled again...

bottom line....great job by corrales backers....well done....no dispute here...
