Very excited for a new season of my favorite sport. Going to be hard to sleep the next two days. I'll keep all my picks in this thread except for some of the more high profile games getting individual threads on those going is fun. But any pick I make regardless of where it comes from will be recorded in this thread. Got a $5k bankroll, looking to hit 60%. I have no special systems or betting strategies. I just like to gamble. Let's get it done!!

Have three Futures going on.

Melvin Gordon to win Heisman (+1600) $100 to win $1600

Wisconsin to win the National Championship (+2500) $100 to win $2500

USC to win PAC 12 Chamionship (+500) $100 to win $500

GL EVERYONE!!

Alright, got my first pick in the books. Really like this play. Wake Forest was a mess last year. New coaching staff, a stud true freshman qb starting with a spread offense which is right up his alley. I think just being in the ACC they have the size and speed to compete with Louisiana Monroe. And with Dave Clawson coaching, I think they are the better team. ULM has a new qb also who is prone to throwing interceptions. Which fits perfect with the strength of Wake Forest who's most experienced part of their team is their secondary including one of the best corners in the game. The question will be can Wake Forest O'line stop the ULM D'line. I don't ULM will have much success on offense. Wake is going to have a lot of new pieces out there. So this is probably not smart to gamble on a play without seeing a new team play first, but I'm taking my chances.

1.8.28 Wake Forest +1.5 (-110) $330 to win $300

I am not sure I am playing this game but I see this game as a win for Monroe. WAKE Is simply awful and they lost literally everyone on that O side. A side that was terrible. What does that mean, being you play your best? What is behind the best that sucked flat out.

Monroe is very well coached. Thomas the transfer will be coming over. Plus they return almost their WHOLE D.

I honestly see this being a rout for Monroe.

Just my two cents. BOL of course. but I think there is far more value elsewhere is what I am saying

Thanks PENNYWISE. I hear you too. It will be interesting. I'm just not sold on Thomas... in his journeyman career he's thrown 22 tds 30 ints. And if there is one thing Wake Forest can say is the strength of their team it's their secondary. Last year ULM threw 68 passes against Wake. If they do that this year, I think the secondary has a field day. If you take away Florida St and Clemson, Wake's defense was actually decent last year.

But, I'm gambling on John Wolford. Dude is legit. Watched some of his highlights over the years, can make any throw, incredibly fast. Broke all of Tebows Florida HS records. I'm hoping with the system Clawson has that they just spread this ULM team out and dominate.

But, it's a long season and I've been wrong many times. Should be fun regardless!!

I'm going with my gut on this one. I think BYU is going to be a powerhouse this year and might even run the table. They bring back almost everyone on offense. An offense that was 10th in the nation last year in rushing, and a star quarterback in Taysom Hill, who is a much better thrower than people give him credit for. They pick up a really good receiver from UTEP, who was their leading receiver the last two years, all their backs are back. I can't see Connecticut, who lost their only three players who had 2 sacks last year. They have no pass rush, mixed with a beast of an O'line for BYU. I think BYU scores at will this game.

On the defensive side, BYU definitely takes a step back with the pieces they loss, but from what I've read they have another solid cast coming in replacing them. And I'm just not threatened by UConn's offense even if most of their skill players are back. Key here is they lost 4 lineman and are starting a really inferior O'line. BYU should be able to get pressure on Cochran and make this a really bad home opener for the Huskies.

Scariest thing is BYU traveling to the east coast and having Texas next week, which really will be their game of the year. But, I think they come out sharp and put a hurting on Uconn. Thinking 49-17 type game.

UTSA brings back 19 of 21 starters. Of course one is their only starting qb in history... but I have faith Coker knows how to groom a QB to fill the role. Houston has some skilled receivers but I'm not sold on O'Korn. Add in the fact Houston lost 4 starting o'lineman from last year. I think UTSA not only keeps this close but has the chance of winning the game outright. Might sprinkle some on the ML

1.8.29 UTSA +10.5 (-110) $220 to win $200

Week 1 Picks
1.8.28 Wake Forest +1.5 (-110) $330 to win $300

Not much to write up here... Think both of these teams hit the 40s this game. No defense in site and two very potent offenses. Going to be a track meet.

1.8.28 A&M/South Carolina Over 61 (-105) $315 to win $300

1.8.28 Wake Forest +1.5 (-110) $330 to win $300
