I just ran into a fellow tourist (we were in the same tour group a few days ago) in San Pedro and he just came back from a dive at the Blue Hole today and said a woman died today. Apparently another company had a fatality---not sure what happened but he said it sounded like she drowned while diving the Blue Hole. He said that a lot of people will get nitrogen narcosis from going down to 135ft and people react differently (some feel euphoria, others feel a numbing sensation, etc). Given that my boyfriend and I just recently got certified, we decided to stick with the local dives for this trip. From what it sounds like, this dive really isn't for the novices, and should you decide to go, go with a reputable company like Ecologic Divers or Amigos del Mar (which we dove with today locally and they were great).
I got ten years on ya and I hope I die at the pink hole.
How about getting the fuck out of the house?
I use to think, that I should have hung myself with umbilical cord 50 years ago when I got older too.
