Orlando gave up Tony Battie in the trade for Vince Carter, and they're expected to lose Marcin Gortat as a free agent. Wallace and Bass play the same position (PF) with very different styles, but either guy would give Dwight Howard some much-needed support. Wallace, who wants to finish his career with a contending team from the East, is also being pursued by the Celtics.

If they sign Wallace, does he & Carter have enough left to help Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis & co. compete for the title again?

Gortat will be a great player next year. He will be a huge boost for fantasy teams if he ends up in a medicore team and plays lot of minutes. If he averages 30+minutes he is capable of averaging more than 15 points per game and 15 rebounds per game....with lot of blocks!

Wallace played for top level teams/management Wash Bullets, Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, and Pistons where he won a NBA Championship. Maybe it was the teams that poisoned him. Wallace was always an important team player and has always been respected among players.
