After news of his latest injury, do you genuinely feel bad for D Rose?

Not every meniscus tear is =. Once you get an injury like that once, the chances of getting it again go up. He had the same injury last year.

His knees obviously don't really work to play basketball at the highest level.

I'm guessing the bet money was hyperbole but that is likely a bet you would lose.

+1.

Is a chronic injury and very very painful... you can have your ankle, shoulders, hands injured and still be somehow functional... your knee... whole different game, you feel really vulnerable with a busted knee

Knee injuries in basketball players way up the last few years on the amateur and pro level.

Think it mostly has to do with newer quick twitch/power movements being too explosive for the ligaments. I don't have a ton to back that up but I think you'll start to see more on the subject.

I had this same exact injury.
I don't know why people are saying this is season ending.
This injury is not nearly as bad as the other two .

I would bet money he is back this season in 6 weeks or less.

The Bulls say they are shutting him down for the season, regardless of how the surgery goes....That is what they are saying as of now!

I don't understand comments like this?
I don't understand comments that he has made. He obviously is no Michael, Kobe, or Sir Charles. I don't know the guy, but it's obvious he is not worthy of being an MVP or NBA champion.

Whatever personal feelings you have towards him because you perceive him to be an asshole or whatever, how does this have anything to do with his body breaking down?

People just invent reasons to hate on athletes these days.

Not worthy of being an NBA champion, what the fuck does that even mean?

Being paid 34 million to play 10 games the 2 prior years and making statements like he's made gives ANY Bulls fan a reason to "hate"

Not like he was on vacation, his lower body stopped working at the level needed to play bball for a living. Makes sense why he waited to comeback because he probably was worried about re-injuring, which happened.

I'm a prick when I get a 24hr cold so I'd imagine it sucks to be in constant discomfort all the time.

No ones paying you millions.

Skip Bayless tweet sums it up well.....
"Feel sorry for Chicago. DRose, blessed w/ so much ability, wants to be paid like superstar but doesn't want to pay price to BE a superstar."

But you said "he's a pussy and he doesn't care" ??

I don't even know what you are getting at there?

First and foremost he can't be a superstar/star/NBA player because his lower body doesn't work. Not because of some fatal character flaw no matter how juicy and sensationalist it sounds.

If he was the coolest/nicest/most gregarious guy ever he is still SOL because of injuries.

I really don't like D Rose much either. Don't like his attitude towards playing and don't like his cheating regarding SAT's to get into Memphis.

All that said, I feel for any professional or college athlete that suffers injuries. It's not as if he's making these injuries up or anything. Best of luck to him.

Yeah I don't feel sorry for him. He's made a mint off Adidas and his contracts.

Just surprised people dislike him so much. I didn't know he was that hated because of his hesitancy to play in the past. Now that we've seen further injuries, a lot of that hesitancy looks justified. He likely knew his body and that things weren't the same.

Thats what happens when you are lazy and don't train to be a champion.....Kinda like his college entrance exams. Guy has always been a lazy pos.

What gives you the impression he's lazy and doesn't train like a champion? I respect anyone that comes back from a serious knee injury and plays at an elite level.

It means he does not have what it takes. Michael insisted on playing and said he would demand a trade if the Bulls didn't play him coming off a broken foot. Rose on the other hand takes a year off and doesn't suit up for the playoffs because he wants to go to his kids' graduation. He's a softie and no I do not feel sorry for him.
