Most posters know I am a Red Sox fan but the strange thing is I don't hate any other baseball teams, especially because of their fans. Every team has fans, which is short for fanatic. Why shouldn't fans boast about their favorite teams. Some fans are long suffering like devout followers of the Cubs, Red Sox (save 2004), Mets, Phils, Giants, Dodgers, Pirates and several other clubs who can't seem to win it all these days. I feel for those fans because I know how much it sucks to root for teams that never win the big game.
What is strange for me is it is entirely different in NFL football where I hate several teams mainly the Raiders and Steelers (Colts and Broncos slightly less hated than the other two despied squads in Oakland and Pittsburg). Don't ask me why there is a difference between sports, with the hating or not hating teams, I can't figure it out myself. If pressed for an explanation it is probably because of the Pats and the promise they give to their fans every preseason.
Pats fans are in most cases confident that each year their team has a real shot to win it all unlike Red Sox fans who definitely should know better than to get their hopes up at all. History is all the proof you need to avoid being dissapointed year in and year out by the Red Sox and the other perennial losers.
