LT2 is obviously more proven, but I think he's getting older and he seems to be in a decline.

Adrian Peterson is young, but very explosive.

I'd go AP, I like the risk/reward better.

not a chance LT is still the man. Ya 1950 yards and 18 TD's was a decline from his '06 numbers but his numbers last year were still better than his numbers in most of his years. And never forget this. LT has played for 7 years and has played all 16 games every year. Peterson has played 1 year and missed a couple of games allready. Plus go back and look at AP's last 4 games last year.

I would take AP #2 in a standard league, #3 in a PPR league (behind Westbrook) but no way would I take him over LT.

I'd take AP if he was the every down back. He shares with taylor. Although he will have 'bout 3/4 of the carries and 1/4 to taylor...i would still go LT.

Another note...AP is more of a more determined power in yo face runner than LT.

They're still scrapin him off my stucco.

Don't forget AP still has no QB to help take the pressure off of him. That may change (even this year), but no one knows for sure.

I'm a Vikings fan, but take Tomlinson without a doubt. I'd probably take Westbrook before Peterson as well.

LT. People have a short term memory on AP. He's an excellent RB behind the best run-blocking offensive line in football but he's also been a bigtime injury risk in college. One healthy season does not change that. LT is as durable as they come and always produces.

I would take LT, SJax, and Westbrook over AP for this year only. AP killed many owners down the stretch last year. Like Jake said, durability has been an issue.

A great sleeper to make top 3-5 this year - Gore, now that Martz is in SF.

Agreed 100% on Gore. Isaac Bruce, if he stays healthy, should also be a nice sleeper. He's back in the offense that made him a fantasy stud and someone has to catch all those passes. He knows what he is doing and should be Smith's main target in an offense that will move the ball much better.

totally agree on Frank Gore as well. Most people think Martz just throws the ball, but go back and look at what other RB's did in their first season with Mike Martz.

Marshall Faulk had 2,429 yards from scrimmage with 87 receptions and 12 TD's in Martz's first season with the rams.

I know what your saying. Marshall Faulk was a stud, well than look at Kevin Jones's first year with Martz calling the plays. 61 receptions, 1,209 yards and 8 TD's. In just 12 games.

LaDanian Tomlinson is the most dominant fantasy player in the game. True, his numbers did decline last year but when you run for 1,815 yards, 28 touchdowns and catch 58 balls for 503 yards with 3 more touchdowns it is pretty hard to live up to the hype.

Given that LDT ran for totals of 25, 43, and 62 yards in his first 3 games for just one touchdown. Those first 3 games he went against some very strong fronts like the Bears, Patriots, and Packers. So with those numbers its pretty impressive that he still ran for 1474 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson is great and should be a very good NFL back but, lets not forget it has been only one year. The problem with Adrian Peterson is his inconsistency to play every game the same. I feel like if he gets off to a strong start he will continue to play very well but if he gets off to a tough start he is going to get frustrated and slow it down a bit. Peterson had weeks where he single handedly won fantasy owners game and single handedly lost them. He only had touchdowns in 7 games and only ran for 100 yards 6 times. Granted one time he ran for 296 yards and 3 scores and 224 yards and 3 scores but thats not what you want out of a #1 pick. You want a guy who will win you games and will rarely kill you.

LaDanian Tomlinson #1 overall.

LT

Peterson wil miss alot of time this year due to injury and with a black quarterback, that just doesn't help his case

A little FYI for you guys

Mike Martz came out today and said that frank Gore will be the core of San Fran's offense. I might take Gore as high as 5th, behind LT, AP, Westbrook and steven jackson, depending on your league scoring of course.
