Probably a blessing in disguise, as long as AP was on the Vikings they were going to pound him 20-25x a game.

Now with him out they can throw the ball a little more and see what McKinnon has out of the backfield. Diggs has potential to be a poor mans Antonio Brown.

Then maybe AP comes back in a month and they aren't as hellbent on playing conservative smashmouth football with him.

Meniscus is usually 4-6 weeks, I'd guess AP misses like 2-4

Doesn't sound like a bad tear.

He is 32 so they may be cautious with him, playing the long game...

losing AP a blessing? Naw.

When was it ever a good recipe to let Bradford throw 30+ times a game...hasn't worked yet in his NFL career. They definetely need a ground game bc if not, Bradford won't make it past game 7

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports Adrian Peterson will undergo surgery to repair his torn meniscus on Thursday and will be out a "minimum" of 3-4 months.

Guess it was a bad tear.

If you guys look at AP's #'s 2nd half last year, playoff game vs Sea, 1st 2 games this year.....There is a lot of evidence he just isn't the same player and he isn't really a receiving threat so the offense becomes predictable with him on the field. I'm not saying the Vikings offense is going to take off without him, what I was saying is if he was out 2-3 weeks that they might open it up a little more and then he could comeback and be integrated. McKinnon had really good combine measurables and has looked good when he plays. He might just be better than AP at this point. I know AP is a freak but guys hit the wall fast. Look at Lynch last year, Rawls was clearly better than him once he started playing.

I just think because of everything that AP has been to that franchise that they've clearly been overusing him lately and it holds their offense back. Should he still be a big part of the offense? Yeah but going into every game with the goal of getting him 22-25 carries was really hindering their efficiency as an offense.

10 years is about the fall off point of the best RBs. Most RBs are lucky if they even make it that far.
