Action points in baseball involve betting how many runs a team will win by. You still use the money line to calculate risk/payoff.

For example:

Today the line on STL SFO is

STL +115
SFO -135

If a player takes action points ($100 per point) on SFO and SFO LOSES by 2 runs (i.e. 5-3 or 7-5) Then the player loses 2*100*1.35 ($270)

The cap/limit will depend on your aversion to risk or bankroll if you're a player. A three run cap is OK.

There are several books that offer action points. Do a search on Google - then check the reputation of the book here.

Good luck
