The guy who will be on the Apprentice is Willie "Word" Ellington. Went to school with him at Georgia Southern. Awesome guy!! He now lives out in Vegas. He use to be a DJ at the local watering holes. He has made a killing from what I understand.

Amway is a marketing scheme...where you build clients and its like a pyrmid scheme....the more people you get in your network, the more money you supposedly make.....its like a chain....if that helps you at all...google amway scam or acn scam...you will see how people are mislead or ripped off...if it was that easy....we would all be rich.....

No, I know what Amway is since I operate a business in which they're my primary supplier.
I was just puzzled by the reference to Amway in "the early 90s"

I'll presume then that the analogy you were inferring was that this ACN phone marketing plan is a direct sales opportunity of some kind.

And I'm sure you realize that the reason everyone who opens a business using Amway as their supplier does not "get rich" is because most people aren't willing to do the needed work to build a profitable business.

In that sense, it's little different from many business opportunities, wherein about 80% go broke in the first 4 years and another 80% of those remaining go broke within eight years.

I've seen lots of posts and sites about ACN; sounds like a hard way to make $ to me. You make most your money for referrals and after they dry up, what's left?

ACN is a scam. A buddy of mine got into it and made everyone he tried "selling" uncomfy in the process. They pressure you to hit up your friends, a big no-no in my opinion. Same with the mona-vie crap wine scheme.
I finally told my buddy if he was gonna do the phone/internet deal, to show me how much he saved by using it after 6 months, and I'd think about it. It never happened. (and, his internet service sucks big time to boot!)

An interesting read

Here's a snip from it

If I want to earn enough to offset the annual ($149), monthly ($5.99), and administrative ($1) fees, that takes $149 + 12×$5.99 + 12×$1 = $232.88/yr. At 1% commission, my customers' total billing would have to be $23,288, or $1940.67/mo. That's 39 customers each at $50/mo. Angela only has 27! And remember, any one of them not paying their bill will wipe out my commission!
Clearly you're not going to make money with ACN by signing up customers. The only way to do it is to bring in new agents, in order to earn bonuses and your cut of their commissions. But if you're going to go that route, you have to spend at least $499 to buy your way in, making it that much harder to break even.

A network marketing system founded on just one, or a very short list of products/services does demand a much wider expansion of active associates in order for it to be profitable to any particular operator.

That doesn't make it a "scam".

It just means that it's far more difficult to be profitable if you want to focus on marketing the product/service without aggressively referrring new associates into the network of operators.

ACN pays on override on all customers acquired from the reps in your group.

Thats how you can earn huge residuals.

Is there anything wrong with that, maybe Im missing something here

I would recommend anyone interested in this company to research it thoroughly. I'll leave it at that.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that style of marketing or compensation.

But as noted in my earlier post, when your product line is extremely small (under a dozen for ACN, eh?) making bigger money demands a very large expansion of the associate base.

Which means more work - a component that likely scares the pooty out of a lot of people, especially if the concept is presented to them as a way to "make lots of money fast!"
