84-74-3 +5.4 units

The record was wrong yesterday but the units were right. 1-0 last night for +5 units with a big hit on BC. Gonna go ahead and lock in one play now and will have more to say about it later.

**** Virginia Tech Hokies +10.5

Last 6 games between these teams have been decided by 1,1,5,1,2 and 1 point. Think VT is the hungrier team in this game, and though they are not playing good ball later this is a good match-up for their team. These are the games that Greenberg always does a great job with as he is able to motivavate his guys to play well when they aren't getting any respect. Also a big revenge spot for the Hokies as they blew the first meeting @ Cassell late and will be looking to attone for the 32 minute of good ball and 8 minutes of folding that they did.

I think they could actually win this game if they play really well but I expect this will likely be a 5-7 point game. Clemson will also be looking ahead to a big game for revenge for them @ FSU this weekend and I just don't expect them to bring the same level of intensity as the Hokies should have tonight. Clemson also struggles with perimeter defense (41 % 3 point range last 5 games) and if VT can get Vasallo and Delaney involved from the outside they are going be able to hang tight all night.

This is nearly a must win for the Hokies. I love taking DD dogs who are still on the tourney bubble at this point in the season because they are usually going against someone who is already in the tournament and might be looking ahead. I expect this is going to be one of those games in the ACC where the announcers find themselves saying "and thats why you have to bring your game every night in this league". Tigers by 5

:toast:

Leaning heavy on taking the terps in the late game, but not ready to make it a play yet. Comcast center will be rocking and Terps are in a similar spot to VT here except they are @ home and coming off a big win. Duke is playing awful defense right now and really struggling with guards who can create their own shot. Big win for the Devils on Sunday but I still see some serious flaws in this team

Jimmy, I have a slight lean towards VT myself thinking they are
not in the tourney and need to win 2 out of their next three to show that they are worthy. With Maryland, I'm hoping there is more duke money to push this line past 7. I'm just waiting here to get a better line before picking Maryland.

**** Maryland Duke O 144.5

Really, really like this total tonight. All season Duke has prided themselves in their defense, and over the last 5 games ACC teams have found a way to break this Duke defense down. Duke still does a decent job in causing turnovers (.65 A/TO ratio) but has become really soft in defending opposing offenses once they get into their offense (55 % fg shooting and 50 % from the perimeter). Both teams are also doing a good job at keeping up with the ball (both A/TO ratios well over 1.15). Since both teams like to run I am expecting a very up tempo game with alot of open looks for both teams. It shouldn't be quite as high scoring as the Wake game on Sunday but to cover this number it doesn't have to be...

Clemson reserve guard Andre Young hit some big threes off the bench Sunday in Clemson's come from behind win at Georgia Tech. If he is still hot from Sunday, he could be the difference in your +10.5 covering or not. This kid may be Clemson's Ace in the Hole come tourney time, but I fear he came out of the bag too early and has lost the element of suprise, Just A Thought.

On V Tech and small ML play. VT needs a big road win and Oglesby has the flu so he might not be that effective. Have a lean on Maryland, but not strong enough to play.

ah gl tonight i do like that total in the puke game i duno about virginia tech though, they are on the verge of 6-10 in the conference i think team looks to be falling apart, i do think this qualifies as a revenge game for tech however since the fashion in which they lost the first game was particularly sick especially for their backers (i was one of them!) i would lean to clemson not a very strong lean though.

I just think this is a tough game for the Tigers to cover the number tonight. I like Greenbergs ability to play up these kind of angles in the past and I think he will have his team realizing that this is their chance to make up for where things started to go wrong for them. I had VT in that game too and they melted down in that game and havent really been the same since. I hope we can see some of that same fire that we saw the first 32 minutes these teams matched up.

I do like alot of what Clemson does but as we all know the Tigers struggle a bit with their consistency. I don't think this team is clicking on all cylinders right now and they have a big test coming up this weekend. I am expecting a close game here.

Could be wrong though, as I'm only hitting ~53 percent this year. We will see..

** Maryland Terrapins +6

Terps are playing well and Duke is playing terrible Defense. Think the Terps have to have this one to be in the conversation. Not saying that they win but I think they should be able to hang here, especially with the Papa Williams sure to remind his team about the ass-whooping his boys got in Durham. Comcast center is always at its nastiest when Duke comes to town, so this should be a very entertaining, high energy game to watch.

Best of luck to everyone tonight, now would be a nice time of the year to get hot :drink:

Good hit with the two big plays as VT ML was a sweet payout. Like always Duke gets all the calls as the 4th foul on Vasquez pretty much killed the cover.

Duke really didn't get that many calls tonight.. I thought it was pretty straight forward officiating.
