thanks guys. lets keep it going tonite :toast:
seems I grabbed this game at the worst possible time. Not a lot of difference between the -1.5 and the -1's that are floating out there, but in these tight kind of games you'd like to get the best line possible. Oh well...
I have caught this VT team in action a couple of times this year, and they have been underrated for a while now. Hokies have won 9 out of their last 10 including 2 consecutive on the road @ Miami and Wake Forest.
Tigers are hitting a bit of an offensive slump, shooting 37.5 % over their last 5 games while getting out-rebounded 38-34 over that margin. Meanwhile VT finds their offense in a nice rythym, shooting over 47 % and winning the rebounding battle 34-31 over that same span.
Both teams are pretty similar relating to free throw shooting and ball control, so there is no real advantage there. To me that helps the home team here because if you are able to nullify the Tiger press then it really forces them to get good shots in their half-court game. Clemson likes to pound the ball inside and I like the tenacity that Vasallio and Allen bring into the paint for the hokies. Clemson likes to start a 3 guard line-up and that will cause them trouble going against a team that likes to play with size (5 of their top 6 scorers are 6'6).
VT started very slowly this year but I really like the way the Hokies are peaking right at the conference season and Clemson looks to be in danger of their annual collapse. First home game in 12 days for the hokies and I expect a raucous ready to cheer on the home team to another quality win. Hokies by 7, 78-71.
BOL everyone, still kicking around a play on the over..
