59-50-3 +0.4 units

Just got home from the bar and wanted to play this one as I don't see this line getting any better. Tired now but will have more to say about it tomorrow:

***** Florida State Seminoles +9.5

Basically I think these are 2 top 5 teams in this conference and FSU matches up very well. Clemson had a Perfect Storm Game on Wednesday and are now laying a premium. I had this line @ 6 and even then leaned heavily to FSU. Think FSU has a great shot @ the outright victory.

BOL everyone, leaning to Miami and UNC 1h tomorrow as well..

Good Luck Jimmy... I am a HUGE Clemson fan, but will not touch this one.... Clemson coming off such an emotional, dominating game vs Duke...who knows how they come out and respond tonight.... and you're right... FSU is solid....anybody sleeps on them, and will get woken up with a Loss real quick... I think CLemson wins the game, but I think I'll just watch and pull for CLemson, and not worry about the points....I'll be fine if we win by less than 10, so you can get the 5unit win!!!

BOL!!

thanks GW, was very proud to see clemson grow up on wednesday. purnell is a good coach and deserves the success his team is having this year. That being said...

***** Florida State Seminoles + 9.5

Really like this spot for the seminoles. Clemson coming off a season defining win with the rout against Duke, and I am expecting a bit of a let down game. One thing that has plagued Purnell teams is consistency and I am expecting a bit of regression from the Tigers here. FSU is a really tough match-up for Clemson because of their ability to neutralize all of the Tigers offensive advantages. They are long and athletic so they should be able to keep the rebounding of the Tigers somewhat limited, and their perimeter defensive players are going to be able to keep a hand in Oglesbys face all day. You have to be able to create your own shot from outside to get good lucks against this D, so Rivers might see some open looks but you can't expect 1 guy to carry the weight for a Tiger team that thrives on balance.

Clemson played great D on Wednesday but in their last five games opponents are shooting a robust 45 % from the floor. This is because they allow teams with size to attack the boards and get alot of easy baskets. FSU should see many putback opportunities in this game as Clemson will be very concerned about starting their own break. FSU is giving up a rediculous 0.58 A/ TO ratio in conference so I expect their on the ball D to give Clemson fits and not allow Clemson to get comfortable in their offense.

I see no reason why FSU can't win this game guys. Everyone is high on the Tigers but this is a very capable FSU team that hasnt lost by DD all season (including playing UNC, Duke and Pitt). In my eyes this is much closer to a coinflip game than a DD victory and I will happily take the 9.5. Don't be surprised if FSU wins outright...

I am looking @ this under as well and will have some more plays in a little bit.

*** Miami Hurricanes +14

Bad spot to back the devils, coming off a loss where they get exposed on the road and they come home. This is alot of points to expect this Duke team to be able to cover against a very capable Miami team. Hurricanes have showed themselves to be a 2nd half of the conference season team (2-6 start last year to finish 8-8). I just see McClinton's quickness being a real problem defensively for Duke and the Devils shouldn't have much of an answer for Collins in the interior.

A problem with backing Duke is that you don't know how they respond in this game. You could argue that they bounce back strong, but I just don't think this is a good place for them to do so as Miami is surging in confidence following their win on Wednesday. Its also a bit of a look-ahead for this team as Carolina comes to town wednesday. Duke has only covered these kind of lines against the lower level teams in the conference, and I don't think they have the offensive firepower to do so here. Duke has been blowing out the crappy teams with transition baskets, but Miami does too good of a job protecting the ball to allow for that. Dukes offense has been relying on 2 players for waay too long now and Miami has the talent and the schemes to stop them. Hurricanes do a great job at creating advantageous matchups and I think this will be a suprisingly close game. Duke by 5..

Good luck with UNC 2nd half.

Just locked in FSU and was tempted to go ML as you know I like to risk it, but took the points.

thanks MrC, doesnt look like the points will get any sweeter than they were. I like the shot @ the outright win but the +9 should just be gravy.

The way I see this game right now is that Carolina played terribly and still built an 8 point lead. I think roy lights a fire under his team at the half an they come out swinging. They usually dont let up until their up 25 so we should have some room to work with in the 2nd half.
