One more game for us ACC fans before the bowl games start. It was an admittedly average season for the ACC as there were no elite teams, but it was very profitable so its hard to complain. In the ACC title game I like...

** Boston College Eagles pk

Really really like the Eagles in this this match-up but will play it fairly conservatively as its late in the season and that can be a tricky time.

Really impressed with the way that BC has closed the season, averaging an unbelieveable 1.7 ypc in their last 3 games on defense. I see the Eagles loading the box against the run-first Hokies and attempting to force them to pass. With an aerial attack as limited as what the Hokies bring to the table I feel that they are going to struggle to score. To beat BC on offense you have to have enough balance to make them respect both the ground and aerial attacks and VT just doesn't have that. This is a Hokie offense that has scored 17, 14 @ 14 points in their last three games.

First time these 2 teams played BC won 28-23, though BC qb Chris Crane played horribly and threw two pick-6's. I think they will keep the youngster Davis very limited in what they ask from him (Crane gave them a solid D performance, @ worst they get a C from Davis) and will rely on a dominant defense to create their opportunities. With as lackluster an offense as the Hokies have, I think this will be enough.

BOL everyone, this is a great week for football!

You've had a great run this year my friend and I'm glad we see eye to eye yet again. I concur with all your observations and as I said to my roommate this game comes down to Dominique Davis ability to stay mistake free again this week. Against Wake he had those two costly fumbles and that is my main concern entering this game. We can only hope "he doesn't try to do too much" as the old cliche states. GL

Agree with the side though I think it will be close and probably will lay off. For what it's worth I've done well in the ACC all year and would line the game BC -3. Good luck.

VOR,

I believe Crane had one of the two fumbles that was returned for a TD in the Wake game...that's the way I remember it at least...

I agree with the side and also like the under here. Any thoughts on the total?

38 is low total, but I have to take it again, as I did last week in the VT game and BC game, which should have stayed under.

I really see this being a similar game to the one at lane stadium last season. 14-10, 17-13 type of game.

agreed its a low number but to me its either under or nothing.

These two teams have seen each other once already so they have been through the game preps and watched the film before. The film work this week will be more of a refresher than anything and to me that favors the defenses alot. Also both offenses should approach this one very conservatively with BC having a young QB and VT having shitty QBs. I feel that 20 points wins this game.

Love the Eagles here also in a slugfest most likely. Defense rules in this one and I think BC is slightly better. Nice job Jimmy keep it up right through the bowls.

I noticed a lot of people are on BC. A good friend of mine who is a very skilled capper loves BC, kind of curious as to why everyone loves BC with Davis at qb?

Not saying they don't win, but I know he said that this is his favorite play of the day.

I am not seeing it, just like to get some feedback as to why so many of you are on BC.

Thanks,

First of all sorry for hijacking the thread Jimmy

Wake Forest's defense - which last year was the nation's best at turning turnovers into touchdowns - generated some points in the final minutes of the first half. Smith knocked the ball loose from Davis and Patterson plucked it out of the air and brought it back 15 yards for his second defensive TD of the season to pull the Demon Deacons within 13-7.
Then, Wilber scored to make it 16-14 on the first play of the third quarter. Brandon Ghee drilled Davis on a blitz, the ball popped out and Wilber inadvertently kicked it before scooping it up at the 3 and falling into the end zone, giving Wake Forest two defensive scores in a game for the first time since last year's BC game.

Nice season Jimmy!! I love them ACCers. I actually am leaning towards the hokies on this one. Hadnt made up my mind yet since ive hit 3 acc championships in a row "YAWN". Joking on the conceded part but I may have a change of heart by tomorrow! GL anywho:103631605

no problem VOR, i'm busy moving today so I am very limited in my posting abilities. As long as the discussion is good this is as good a place as any.
